The deal is made within sweden, and I have all details, adress, phones and such, so I aint affraid of getting ripped or anything, I am just really curious about the condition of the pcb..

So! I would really like to find a high quality scan of the gradius FLYER (not nemesis now..)

So far google give me a meeeh quality of the flyer.. enyone who has it scanned and would be so kind and share it? I would like to have it framed and such.. :D (hang it next to my weddingphoto).. lol no.. of course not....................................... ;D

Wow that's not bad :D.
I have actually no idea wich version or anything.. I will have to wait N see :)

Bubble version is quite rare but since they have some problems I'd rather have the rom version I think... what's a working bubble version worth by the way?

There were 5 or so titles on the bubble memory system. I've only ever seen one Gracious pcb that was not bubble memory and that sold for over $4000USD in Japan.

The pcb isn't mine btw, just sharing pix.

what? Why is the gradius pcb (non bubble) so expensive?? Is the nemesis (european) more common than the original gradius?

hmm wonder if its a simple romswap? (guess not, since its so expensive...)?

Original gradius rom version has fewer and bigger roms.. so the pcb might differ.

Strange.. why would they do like that?

I have pix of the Japanaese non bubble Gradius PCB - it is indeed different.

I'll post pictures later.

Pricewise it goes something like this:

Nemesis £300-400

Gradius bubble memory £250-800 (they are all broken however, the bubble memory is too volatile and wipes itself from nearby magnetic fields). Any pcb of this you collect is just to say you have one!

Gradius rom chip version $4000 USD - and I've only seen one for sale ever.

It would be interested to see if you can put the Japanese Gradius rom set on to a Nemesis PCB, someone like DaveSpicer might be able to compare (are they both in MAME?) and see.

That would be a great mod!

Calling Dave Spicer to the thread!!

The memory map for the two games is completely different, thus making it an extensive code rewrite if you wanted to run Nemesis (GX400 hardware) on Gradius (GX456 hardware), or vice versa. Even then it may not be possible.

The bulk of the hardware is functionally identical and would be easy to retarget. Big gotcha is the RAM space which IIRC is larger on the GX456. Running Gradius on Nemesis hardware is very dependant on the extra space not being needed.

The Euro version of Nemesis is the best version of the game anyway. Gameplay is identical to Japanese Gradius and it has the added benefit of a nice title screen. You could make it look the same by blanking out the title screen tiles and replacing the logo - sure would be easier than fixing up all the address references in the code.
