Just added a video to the members collections section of my garage arcade which shows off my OutRun cabs nicely.

Here’s a link to the video if anyone is interested:

That's quite a collection, and in a very good shape, too!
Very, very nice

Count me in !!!

Outrun standard sitdown
Outrun DLX

both in restoration at the moment (and probably will be in this state for a while)

Welcome to the club with those two.

If you get bored with doing either, I am sure I could take one off your hands!

Can you post some pictures for us with just standard uprights to dribble over.

both were literally barn finds so a lot do. Thankfully both are working.

Will get some pictures later

DLX 2 years, standard a year …
Work and lack of space getting in a way. Hopefully by the end of the month both will be in new location and work will speed up.

I finally have a working Outrun!

I got it for free many years ago, included with another purchase. There was a note attached to it which said RAM ERROR DO NOT FIX, so I knew that it wasn't working. But there were of course other issues too.

- Boards didn't work (repaired by retroclinic)

- Monitor didn't work (replaced with NOS monitor)

- Start button broken (purchased NOS from Arcadefixit)

- Steering gears broken (purchased metal gears from Giz10p)

- Marquee light was gone

- Shifter was broken

- Fan needed replacing

- Steering wheel needed replacing (luckily I found a nice one)

I got a very nice fiberglass dash repro from Wim Outrun (thanks!), because my original dash was full of cigarette burns and it was literally falling apart around the shifter.

I thought I would restore the cabinet this summer, but I realized that I didn't have the time for it this year. So I've just replaced/repaired parts and got the game fully working.

I have purchased two(!) sets of stencils to paint the cabinet sides next summer. The first one I got from a forum member here, and it was terribly inaccurate and frankly worthless. £120 wasted.

So I got a set from This Old Game, and that looks perfect.

Anyway, here is a picture! It's in the garage at the moment, but I will move it inside tonight.

I have a tatty but functional unit that I got via arcade heaven sometime probably back in the 90's

photo from an old meet for those that are interested:

I had an outrun bootleg too before that, though it was basically just a copy of an electrocoin goliath cabinet.

This is my Outrun cab, dug out of the back of a garage in 2016, completely fubar'd when she arrived so has been completely stripped and rebuilt. Still haven't managed to get a steering wheel in anything like reasonable order so she's sporting a karting race wheel in the interim.

I am totally not jealous, nor envious of the beautiful mini a few posts up. Goddamn.

DLX owners, can you please post what monitor do you have in your cab.

Any suitable replacements for original one? Never got a screen with my DLX and currently using LCD with converter. About the time to change it.

Thanks
