A lot of 80's cabs in there, I echo what someone else said, nice not to just find a load of jamma cabs, looks like plenty of classic action in there, hope that Paperboy was not too water damaged.

I just need to finish a chapter on a book i'm reviewing and i'll post the next bits.

Once I have posted all the initial pix I am sure the others will wade in with all the pix from the 'operation'.

seems a shame no one else was invited

Just to explain how these things work...

Given the location I'm sure plenty of people will think that. And that's understandable. But you HAVE to involve the absolute minimum number of people or you will lose the deal. This isn't just pessimistic thinking, it's fact based on prior experience. I'm not about to go into detail but it almost happened here as it was through no fault of anyone involved, just a strange turn of events.

Echoing what Gudd has said.

This was about saving the games, that was the number 1 priority. We've taken everything at a MASSIVE expense and will distribute the games in the community post haste.

along as every cab was saved and nothing went to waste and we get a chance to buy

then I don't see any issues and respect your explination

I don't think the guys who collected these cabs are in any way obligated to offer them for sale here. It's a courtesy that they are planning to not a god given right. Put yourself in the same position, you've just found/collected/paid for a load of classics and someone comes up and tells you that you *have* to offer them up for sale. Would you comply? I think not.

Just my opinion (and no I wasn't part of the gang who nabbed these cabs).

I didn't mean it in that way Dan

I meant to say it would be nice if they where offered for sale

but yeah each to their own

it was a raid and people grabbed the cabs and now they own them

what they do is their choice

im just surprised that the usual post on ukvac and offer cabs and then go collect from the raid on raid day didn't happen

Fair enough. I think sometimes there's just no time to lose with some of these deals, it's do it or lose it to someone else/the skip. Assembling a cab list/pledged buyers takes a lot of time and can tip off less scrupulous people to the possible location of a raid. This cab list from what we've seen so far is one of those for sure.

That would have been nice but would have never have worked on the day Sarj. The building owners were putting a lot of pressure on to have the cabs AND rubbish/scrap removed promptly.

There was no break or let up. Equites2015-03-16 12:41:04

Whether you grab a cab or not, just BEING on a raid is a helluva buzz!

I loved the Wales raid. Damn, that was a year and a half ago.

that's what I was thinking

I cant afford of have room for another cab

but would have loved to be there just as a lacky moving cabs if not anything else

There was simply no time, in the end I think we had 8-10 days to work it all out, I spent 5 days just doing logistics.

The plan was always to share the goods on ukvac, but if I had done the usual 'who wants these' post then a bidding war with the vendor would have started on all the forums and factions would have been created - trust me as the best is yet to come

Exciting stuff, love these sorts of threads!

Congrats on getting on to this lead and saving a load of cabs

I imagine there's a lot of delicate handling required, gaining people's trust when doing deals like this; getting the balance right in being interested/genuine, but not so keen as to come across like an over-excited child! Long way for you to travel for this one too!

Can't wait to see and read more about the adventure!

Yep, awesome stuff again Ol and everyone involved! Hats off to you for saving so many cabs. Very exciting. I was just thinking you must have a very large warehouse to store all these cabs! The logistics of shifting so many in one go must be a nightmare... akin to moving house each time (or worse!).
