Just wondered what others here are hoping to get done over the year ahead or buy

I'm definitely not looking to buy any more machines Or any other big projects to do up and sell, spent far to much time on things that came up cheap but needed ton of work and main reason mine machines sit there. need to make space so hopefully after a few things done and gone i can get last extension finished, plastered and the floor tiles down.

Have too many machines in bits that need finishing or starting restoration, really is about time i got it all done so i can finally enjoy what i have Bods2019-12-16 08:26:07

Get my room finished so I can sort the mess and get my work desk back. Then buy some soldering equipment (rather than borrowing stuff).

Make/sort a cabinet to make use of various projectors and rear-projection TVs.

Finish a few PCB/emulation projects

Fix some circuit boards

I'm finished with the hobby now. Got 1 cab to sell, and other 2 selling to a friend. Got loads of spares to list at some point. Only got a 1 bed flat, so cannot physically buy anymore anyway. Got other hobbies to pursue.

Looking to purchase a smaller sofa so I can fit in another cab
smiley36.gif

Projects left to do is finish off two Dino cabs (basically just artwork and one control panel to make up).

Hopefully next year I’ll stumble upon a Tempest cabaret in need of a new home

After years of lurking on here and jamma+ I would finally hope to get jamma cab fully working and get a few boards. The prices recently though are going out of my league and i have no skills when it comes to repairs.Cosmetically I'd be ok but electrical and soldering gubbins is beyond me.I don't think I'll ever get a cab now though unless a fully working cheap smallish cab came up on my doorstep.

So next year will most likely just be drooling over everyone else cabs on here again.

I have an original water damaged game that I've finally found a decent converted cabinet for. I will post it up here in the new year when I start the transplant.Alpha12019-12-15 10:21:01

I already know what’s arriving next year :)

There’s a Turbo Outrun on AC19 with my name on it, and an original Outrun PCB in the post as we speak.

Might have something else exciting in the pipeline too, should be a good year for cabs for me :)

New coat of paint on the garcade.
Some cabs in some cabs out.
Get Paperboy fully working
Go for the champ sprint Wr
Unless someone local discovers a tempest cabaret and sells it to me for a fiver i cant see buying anymore cabs this year (prob for the best as they are all gone or cost thousands!)
Actually find more than 4 minutes a day to go out there and play some cabs.....
And Go to more meets!

Starting new job, moving house and moving north-ish. Need a place with a bigger garage or space for my working games and space to work on my projects.

No. More. Cabs.

Finish the refurb of my SCI cab, look into getting a jamma cab made so I can finally do something with a WG monitor I've had sitting around doing nothing. Sort out a garage conversion for my disabled son, so we have a downstairs loo and washroom. After doing that, there should be some room left in the garage so that I can actually use my machines rather than wait for the 4 months a year when I'm brave enough to turn them because it's finally warm and dry enough.

Hopefully the System 16 multi will be available this year too.

Then I might evaluate the money I've spent on smoking things that I shouldn't over the last 20 odd years, and use that money for other projects.

I also turn 40, so another trip up north to Arcade Club is on the cards to celebrate.

I've got a fairly big year planned for 2020. I started a new job in April this year and I've been living away from the Mrs during the week which has been pretty tough. I've just broke up for xmas and I've got three weeks off which is mainly going to be spent getting our house ready to put on the market.

We're looking to move down south somewhere near Bicester and a house with a minimum of a double garage and/or space for a large workshop is a non negotiable. Planning on fully insulating/heating it and getting a CNC router and a CNC laser amongst some other toys. I've got access to some 5 axis milling machines at work so between them I should be able to churn out some pretty cool stuff.

Arcade wise; I sold all of my cabs late 2018 in preparation for next/last year. I'll have space for a games room so I would like to pick up a cab or two again for sure.

No more purchases for me until we move house (not that I've bought much the last few years). The house move is pencilled in for summer 2022. A house with a double garage I can convert to a big games room is a priority. The goal then is to create my own little Japanese style arcade. I’ll get a few more Astro’s and Blasts, an Initial D and maybe a NAOMI light gun cab then see what the Mrs wants to add. She likes the rhythm games, so I assume one or two of those depending on space.
