Yep, another one! Nothing particularly thrilling but I thought I'd document it as it may give some inspiration or possibly be of help to others.
So here goes... we moved house about three months ago and since then, my machines have been in storage waiting for this work to be completed. We were going to get a professional builder in but as I'm now unemployed (victim of the low oil prices) and all the quotes were upwards of 5K, I'm gonna do it myself. I'm a reasonably confident DIY'er, have time on my hands and ultimately we'll save a ton of money, so it's a no-brainer.
I have a 9280x2340mm space, two metres of that will be sacrificed to a utility room (gotta keep the missus happy!) the rest is all 'man cave'.
So far, I have filled about a thousand holes on the walls ranging from screw holes to ones you can get your fist through. I have removed old sockets, light switches etc. and chased in cables. The walls and ceiling will require skimming with plaster further down the line. I have installed a wooden raised floor to compensate for the slope of the concrete floor and I'm currently on with the plumbing. Originally, there was a sink and washing machine point directly behind the roller door. This is being relocated to the diagonally opposite corner. Once the plumbing is done, I need a sparky to change out our old fuse box with a new consumer unit (to be fitted on the 28th July) so until then, I'm kinda stuck.
I have started a Google Photo Album of progress pictures here: https://goo.gl/photos/32JuHkhSxa4EfhTh9 and I'll update this thread and photos as often as I can.
Thanks for reading!
