My wife is senior children's nurse with the NHS & I deliver some medical supplies (raw ingredients & parts) & some food so both considered key workers all that really changed for me so far is the lower traffic & we both work in central London.

Some of my deliverers are important & others not & my company has been exploiting that so other stuff gets taken with them but this could all change this week as more suppliers shut & less work comes in, our carpet logistics division has already shut as a major supplier in Belgium closed a few weeks back.

So far all of our bosses has been off for about 3 weeks & we have had zero support from the company apart from the odd email giving telling us how to run things.

I’m being nagged to go do do building work for the rich spoiled self important people that actually don’t give a sh*t if you or your family got sick and died so I guess I will be making up some self demeaning lie Monday morning for my own self preservation.. as holding out my hand on a daily basis for my survival isn’t enough.. now I’m supposed to say I’m sorry but as there is a killer disease out there er no I think I will not be slaving my arse off in your f**king mansion so you can make more money!

They actually said as only the landscape gardeners and decorators are there that I will be ok?

Obviously their parents paid for them to go to the boris trump school of future analysis and have crystal balls
So who am I to question it....Also

Today I watched Ocado delivery man with out gloves on
Handling the shopping items individually To the guy in the flat
Handing him items

Guy in the flat also no gloves Hands delivery guy items back!!
Namely 1 bottle milk 1 bottle orange juice and bananas. “No I didn’t order these “

Ocado Delivery guy just calmly puts the items in with all the other shopping....
So if anyone you know uses Ocado... I would wash it!
As Probably been handled by more than just delivery people.

Where are you working? the mansion sounds familiar, our land scapers have now pulled off the job and the painters over a week ago.

I'm attempting to teach from home, will get rota'd in to school to cover other key workers kids. Far from an ideal teaching environment.

So difficult not being able to answer questions for GCSE and a level students as we still have no idea how grades will be decided

I'm still working pretty much the same as before the outbreak but 5 days a week from home instead of the usual 2 or 3. The remote access is working surprisingly well so far. Thankfully I have a work room with a door I can close which is helpful with the kids being at home too.

Only thing struggling is the phones/video conferencing which is not bad thing ;) We now have 3 or 4 different solutions to fall back on if the standard ones are bad.

Still working as normal, expected to turn up for work at the office (IT, Local Council). I've had fibre contractors in all last week as normal and have BT in tomorrow, as we're classed as a critical business.

We're all VDI/Thin client so remote working should have been a cinch to set up for everyone. What's held things up is the number of people who have Smart TVs, tablets and smartphones and therefore see no need for a laptop or PC. We've had to scrape around for laptops and lend these to staff, you can't seem to be able to buy them anywhere at the moment.

The other issue is people being unable to follow instructions and rather than using the full client, they connect using the HTML version of Citrix Receiver and then wonder why their headset doesn't work in Teams. Not sure if some do this on purpose to keep the phone calls down ;)

Packed in sparking 16 yrs ago. Got laid off in favour of our quality cousins from Eastern Europe once too often and threw self employment into the dustbin. Best thing I ever did.

It's supposed to be teacher judgement/assessment/coursework/prior attainment/mock grades/predicted grades. Ofqual will make the final judgement to ensure consistency.

Not ideal at all, especially as some students will surpass their predicted grade over the next 9 weeks of teaching time (along with half term workshops/study).

Any students who dispute their grade will have the opportunity to sit an exam in Sep. Hopefully the universities will take this into account when making offers etc.

We will have to see. I feel sad for the many students this situation will not benefit academically

Well we all know who's totally to blame for this don't we!!!

Of course there needs to be an understanding as to how this has happened, and changes implemented to mitigate the chance of it occurring again.

But any sensible messages in that video are lost behind racist overtones..dogs boiled alive, kittens fried.... get real....
