He moved house from Somerset to Cornwall! Just over 20 miles/approx 45 mins from where I live.

looking fantastic, and a great collection of cabs too!

Planning on adding nice carpet and neons for that arcade look?
I've been collecting interesting lighting stuff and have a nice neon and some other stuff. The main room is having a laminate floor put down - I got it for an awesome price a few months back - and the workshop will have carpet tiles in there that I salvaged from the previous place.

Looks ace, I can't wait to see how your new games room shapes up. It must be awesome to have all that space. An amazing line up of machines as well. I especially can't wait to see the OutRun 2 DLX set up, it must be awesome to have one of those in your games room!

Right, let's get cracking with the work. It gets very humid in here and is basically as damp as it is outside. My last place was around 60%rh after I finished the work so I'm hoping to get this level down to the same or lower when I've finished as it's much too high for cabs as is.

First job is to put move all the non-arcade stuff out and remove the old bench and other crap, then pull out any nails and stuff - just generally give the walls a good clean up.

Man that was hard work to remove. It was pretty much scaffold with railway sleepers on top

Anyway, got rid of it.

Edges of the room are all clear and cabs have been all wedged in the middle to give me some room to work.

Next was putting some bitumen up the first 2 courses of block and across the floor.

I let that dry for a few days then started to cut and space the wall battens

First lot get fixed to the wall, just in time for my insulation (25mm Celotex) and Plasterboard to arrive.

Don't know if you've already done it Olly, but i'd recommend also giving it at least one good coat of water seal if it hasn't already been done, if it isn't already painted on the outside. You could do it on the inside as well as double protection.

i thought with this hobby, people need to know some basic electronics to upkeep their games and equipment etc. seems like you have to know how to building work too these days!

Luckily it's already been done, and the outside has been rendered and painted so it's all good there

I'm going to be putting a vapour barrier over the insulation, plus a high spec moisture guard underlay on the floor before I lay the laminate.
