Typical YouTube hyperbole there! It's a prototype sat behind glass in a store in Tokyo. But still interesting!Interesting video here showing the actual console…
That's a DIN port. Same as the Neo Geo which outputs RGB and composite through it. Mentioned on the other AES+ thread. The main things of note: HDMI and regular S-Video AV out on the back.
Hope so as i can’t stand the look of old consoles on modern tvs, but I have just ordered a hdmi scanline generator off AliExpress to test with my Atari 7800+ so if the aes+ doesn’t have it in software that may be an optionWill it have scanline generator built in over hdmi?
Good to know, it was only just under £30 so not a big risk but you can’t beat a personal reviewi have the same one chubsta. I actually watch alot of old 80s hong kong films and anime through it. its a good back up incase i dont get the results from inbuilt scanlines
Was wondering the same. Only thing I spotted was official description says switches on the bottom of the console for 'choosing different display modes'. Not sure what it means, and if it's filters,.4:3, scanlines or what. Really hope it's something like that as those great sprites can look dreadful when in high resolution. Will it have scanline generator built in over hdmi?
A new CRT production run would be amazing, but I doubt it'd ever happen due to the millions involved in setting it all up (plus the joys of certifying X-rays, inefficiency, lead etc). Suppose you could pretend you had some for sale, then use the masses of interest to secure funding...Whatever next eh? Sony, Panasonic and Phillips get together to announce their collaboration on a new CRT factory?? 🥰😂
