I'll take the paint off below the grounding points; don't worry. You make a good point though.
Next time I'll leave a washer on the ground points so that they're easily exposed after spraying.

Primed and sprayed! Halfords own 'grey primer' and 'aluminium' spray paint for those who want to know. Next step is replacing all the spade connectors etc.

What did you do to remove the rust and get such a smooth finish? Looks great as new

I used an electric sander. Started with thick grain 80, attacked the big rust spots and then switched to 120 all over. Made sure I went lighter around the text so I didn't sand it out. Then spray primed the inside, primed the outside, and finally sprayed aluminium in and out.

Oh nice job, I've been trying to get rust off by hand but can only go so far until I need machine help. Looks great once done, might have to go buy a sander...

Nice job! Looks fantastic now

A wire brush is a good tool for rust removal too; a brass bristle one on an electric drill if you're bring gentle, a thick steel bristled one on a grinder if not!

Gulp! What an amazing improvement on the power brick case.

What you need now is a transparent cab so folk can see it.

Just knowing it's in there, being shiny, is enough reward I suspect.

Finally got the brick completely reassembled and tested. Pins 1-9 seem fine:
1-3: 13.4VDC,
4&5: GND,
6&7: 34.3VAC,
8&9: 6.8VAC.

How do I test pins 11,12,13 & 15?

I read my pins as :

13, 14, 15
10, 11, 12
07, 08, 09
04, 05, 06
01, 02, 03

So black lead to pin 11, and red lead to pin 13 = 65v AC

In the middle of a little rearrangement after the last raid. Am consolidating my study and arcade room in an attempt to contain the hobby! Kids playroom has gone upstairs so now I have the whole room

I'm dedicating one half to cabs and the other half will be computer desk and workbench.

Here's one side of one half (I recon I can fit in the same again opposite these):
