Just booked a room at the Mercurie Hotel .. about £74 right now

The yellow line is from the Hotel to the Arcade, walking distance so best thing to do is leave car in hotel car park (hopefully) and wonder over.

Parking is £10 a night
Even though I only live an hour's drive away I booked a room at the Mercurie last night but it cost £95 with breakfast. I fancied a beer or two.

Good man! Yes, I'm sure there'll be some beers flowing later on and if the hotel bar knows there'll be a good few of us I bet they'll stay open for the extra cash. Looking forward to it, see you all there next weekend.

Is there parking near the arcade? I don't need a hotel. It's looking a lot like I'm going to be able to make this after all. Will make a decision in the next day or so.

In the past I have used the carpark in the link below and I am going to initially park in there.

Hey guys :)
Really looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
A couple updates first...The above ad has an error on it. We open at 12pm to the public, not 11am.
We have a kids private party 10am till 12pm so can't let anyone in early, sorry.

If you need parking, the nearest all day Pay and Display is by the Job Centre (TA6 3HG) which is about 4 or 5 minutes walk from the arcade.
It's cash or phone app only, doesn't take cards (or at least didn't last time I parked there) I think it's still only £5.50 all day.
From the car park, cross the river and walk toward the Asda petrol station and you'll find us :)
If you need help with directions to parking there is an Asda opposite us with two hour parking you can temporarily use.
Saying that, Asda does have signs up saying you can pay to stay longer but doesn't say how much this costs.

Next up, a list of everyone who I have received payments from via PayPal are as follows.. (sorry if you were trying to turn up as a surprise)

Edward Miller
Matthew Laker
Curtis Osborne (x2)
Alex Crowley
Stacey King
Robin Mangham
Dave Rowlands
Robert Storey
Russell Thomas
Timothy Watson (x2)
Stephen W Foster
Matthew Cockram
Steven Edwards
Nichola Charlesworth
Matthew Garret
Matthew Holliday (x2)
Phil Jones
George HP
Elliot Cole

If you think you have paid but your name isn't above, please get in touch so we can see what has happened.

Last couple things.. :)
We'll be ordering in pizza, chips and other light snacks around 8pm once the general public leave.
If we have any vegans or have anyone with specific dietary requirements please comment below or message directly so we make sure to include food you will enjoy.

And again, really looking forward to meeting you all. There are so many names I recognise either from the UK VAC Facebook page or from mentions on the Ten Pence podcast and will be great to put faces to those names.

See you Saturday, Stuart

For anyone coming down early on FRIDAY, Mark (who runs the tournaments) will be doing a Super Smash Melee. This is seperate to UKVAC meet but if you do arrive early and want to go to the arcade then it is on. We usually attract people from local area and they do a tournament on the upper floor. Thought you might be interested.

This Friday is Smash night but with a difference.
As voted by you last month, we're going retro and playing Super Smash Bros Melee on the Game Cube.
As usual, the tournament will start at 7:30pm so please be there by 7:15pm to get your name in.
The tournament is mostly for fun but small prizes will be given to 1st and 2nd place.
The tournament entry is included in the arcade entry fee. If you want to visit the arcade but don't want to join in, that's fine, the tournament is purely optional.

I've just paid by PayPal. Apologies for the late payment but I wasn't able to come, plans changed and now I can.
Interestingly I've spoken to a couple of people now and can think of probably half a dozen names that aren't on that list. I'll nudge some people to let you know in advance rather than just rocking up on the day so you are aware of numbers. It looks like the "old-school" members are the worst culprits 😁

Has anyone that's coming got a spare, new, Jamma PSU with all the voltages that they'd be willing to bring along and sell please? If so, PM me a price. Thank you. It needs to be compatible with an MCR -> Jamma PSU adapter. Or is that Jamma -> MCR? Whatever, you get the idea. I need one for my Tron. It's been 13 years, I should probably look at getting it working.

I don't, @guddler ... but might be an idea to make a 'Wanted' thread (quoting the above/quoted post) for it quickly, and edit that into the above/quoted post ...

... at the very least it might get you motivated on the build. 💘

Also ... FWIW ... I might not make it ... all depends on whether I get the speedo working in mi' car, today. 😩

Don't worry, if I don't make it, I insist that my payment be used to let someone else who's said above can get in for free on the day.

I live even closer than that but have done the same, can't stand when I'm enjoying myself, fancy a beer or two but have to think about driving back home.

I'm obviously the newbie here but really looking forward to meeting everyone, I don't do many social events and have never visited Timewarp despite no doubt living closer to it than anyone here.

Cheers all, see you tomorrow.

Great to see something finally happening in the South West, and up the road from me at that!! Sadly, this is the weekend of Crash Live in Kenilworth and I'm already signed up to go to that so won't be able to make it to what is basically a local meet (I'm in Minehead), otherwise I'd be there. If the people I'm going to Crash with can't make it for any reason (illness or whatever), then I'll come along.

I'm pretty much looking to sell up and just keep the couple of cabs that I have left and stuff required to keep them going. I don't have a complete list but I can put one together if anyone was interested. I'm sure we could work out getting stuff to you somehow. Really does depend on roadworks as to whether I go past Bridgwater on my way to the motorway or not (at the moment, probably not 🤣)

On a separate note, I keep saying I must get up to Timewarp, and yet somehow never do! This would have been a great opportunity.

Funny enough I would have been at Crash aswell, couldn't do that in the end so this is a nice compromise. Nice to see somebody else local on here though.
