If I remember correctly, Talk Of The Town also had a deluxe Metal Hawk that sat there in the corner switched off, though I don't think it was there in more recent years. Did you see it while getting the OutRun DLX?

Sadly it was scrapped.

I remember making a hamfisted offer for that machine a few years ago and basically got told to piss off, so fair play to you and hope you enjoy it!

Small update, I am working on converting the garage around the machine so it's just being stripped down and made secure while the work is done.

Thankfully the motorboard was present and correct, it looks like it has had some work, have removed and am cleaning it up now.

Working on removing all the rusted fixings to get the service covers off, think I am going to have to go powdercoat on this.

Removing the PCB, at least it's present but my god this machine is dirty

Does anyone have a copy of the wiring dligraa that is included in the Deluxe operators
Manual in a high resolution? Looking for one to work off tracing a few bits but all the pdf’s online are pretty low res.

Wow that is one dusty PCB and must have had a hard life! I see it still has a suicide battery. Retroclinic serviced and de-suicided my board, not cheap but fantastic service.

Its great news that all the parts are still there. That marquee art is awesome!

Cheers, making good progress cleaning stripping and creating a list of what parts i will need. Sadly had no luck getting any yet ?? will have to start searching wider than the uk.

The marque is off to muddymusic to be scanned so hopefully copies can be made.

Will update with a few more pics once I have something interesting to show.

I am tempted to desuicide this board and keep it as a turbo if it can be gotten working. Then pick up a second outrun pcb shall see what I can find.

Looking to locate and order some new matting for the floor and the steps. Does anyone know the original colour. Mine looks to be black. Googling it most are black but some seem to be grey?

Topper graphic is scanned in, really nice to get this ultra rare piece or art preserved

I'll get it vectored when I can and make up some repros.

Fantastic, glad you were able to get a good scan. Your welcome to take the rivets out if it helps.

No need, I was able to get it done with them still in there. I've taken note of the Pantone colours and it's boxed up ready to send back to you now, thanks again for lending it out.

Been busy dismantling and cleaning nearly the whole machine, now have two huge boxes of parts to clean paint and fix while I work on the garage at the same time.

IMG_8284.JPG

The poor sound PCB when I first opened the base, cleaned up well though.

IMG_8292.JPG

A weird photo but just to give an idea of how dirty the machine was, I don't think it had once been cleaned in 30 years.

Getting the body off.

Before

After a dam good clean and wash.

IMG_8392.JPG

All the covers off, lots of rusted bolts mountains of filth and a fair few mouse droppings. Now ready to sand and seal all the rust. Will leave the base and frame primed then wrap the whole lot up for a few weeks as the room is converted around the machine.

Always fantastic to see this truly great cab getting the resto treatment - well, it's always great to see one full stop!

Nice story too that you have known about the cab so long and eventually managed to buy it - sounds like it's in good hands.

There's a machine I've known about for about 10 years also, but not checked to see if it's still there for a while now. Always thought I'd own one of these cabs, but it never quite happened for one reason or another.

Good luck with the resto and keep the photos coming

Cheers all for the comments, glad it’s of interest.

Little bump on a question I had, I could really do with a decent copy of the wiring schematic from the bacl of the owners manial.

All the ones online are really low res and next to useless, does anyone have one they could scan or share ?

I am dealing with a lot of op hacked wiring so could do with the diagram.
