If anyone does know the RAL as above for the base would be great if not will take a bit to get color matched.

Still struggling to find a screen , although a member here is going out of his way to try and help me find one so that is great!

Little update.

The power Supply & Amp Board

Stripped it down cleaned everything checked fuses, solder joints etc. On the whole was in really solid just dirty shape. Seems the op had never had reason to touch it so no dodgy wiring mods.

The AC Unit

Some very odd wiring here, this was caked in dirt, this "before" pic is actually after removing one pinball a dead something an air hockey puck and a mountain of dirt fluff and other "things"

The mains wire was terrible and frayed so have removed, it also had another wire soldered directly to the back of it as it entered the unit that fed up to I assume a 240v screen they had used, removed all that wiring.

I have ordered a new cable snag and will replace the AC wire, this will mean I can then test the cab with no boards in just to see if fans come on and get some voltages etc. Will be ready with a fire extinguisher

I will strip this board again later and paint or powder coat it once I know the color details.

Stripped and rebuild the steering with a set of giz10p's gears. Just need a C gear to complete.

Cleaned up the first of the side art, lots of damp closthes wet wipes and magic erasers. Really pleased with how it's come up.

Now that sideart clean up, that looks amazing.

And you will not regret those metal gears too,

just get some of the correct grease on them and they will feel great,

and last forever.

Keep up the good work and it will soon be all finished.

Sanded back smoothed out etc, then primed with a zinc etching primer then grey over the top of that.

It looks good on the inside. Not aure about the larger panels yet, will probably try the above and see how it looks. The finish on the base is pretty basic anyway.

I decided to leave mine because of the mammoth effort of stripping the lot and getting the whole thing sprayed in one go, but if this method works - basic or no - I might copy it! Especially cos someone painted mine blue in the past

Work has been progressing on the Outrun. As it was left above, I have been able to get on with some parts as I converted
the Garage where the outrun was kept into an office / games room.

During the conversion the floor was raised, this posed some challenges.

Never dead lift an Outrun.

While the building work was going on I worked on some parts of it that I could within the house.

The drive board and light board where filthy and the metal bracket they attach to had some serious rust issues so a good clean & paint etc and it's looking better.

The PCB's are Turbo converted, I doubt they will work without some re-work but they were so dirty I at least wanted to get them cleaned up before I even test them and hopefully then de-convert them. Used a isopropyl alcohol and distilled water clean method I found on youtube.

Now the plastering is done in the garage I can crack on with all the painting (before I decorate the room)

I have started with the base first.

I first washed the whole thing removed all the years of grime etc, then I electric sanded the entire thing (with a very good face mask on!)

At this point it mostly looked as per the below.

I then sealed the base with a Zinc etching primer, hopefully this will stop it corroding for a good few years.

Once that was done I added the top coat and then four layers of clear to try and give it a bit of strength. I did the coin tower coin door etc at the same time.

Have now wrapped it all up so I can prep and paint the fiber glass, I finally feel like I am getting somewhere.
