I had a look around and I can't see the exact Viletim boards I used but he looks to have [these] that can be used with Brook Retro boards. They look a bit more 'wirey' but they could be neatened up a bit and wouldn't require pad hacks.

Yeah, that looks pretty complicated and not nearly as neat as yours.

As another idea, I made some of these setups for me and @Iremfan some years back using Viletims RGB SCART to JAMMA adapters.

I'm pretty sure the cab in question isn't JAMMA wired anyway.

I have a 21" scart TV in storage that maybe I could decase and squeeze in... 🤔

Is there currently a working arcade monitor in it at all?

I recently put a gutted 21" TV in a cabinet. One of those things I've had in the back of my mind for ages and finally got round to. It was pretty easy in this case.

I have other Jamma cabinets so for this one I'm thinking what's the point of bothering with the cost and effort of jammafying only to cause additional cost and effort to connect consoles or Mister etc? I might as well dedicate this cabinet to those things.

I can plug in Groovymame or Mister (just the DE10/clone without an AV or Jamma board or anything) with a £15 cable and by wiring a £2 pi pico to handle controls. Or plug a console in with a scart cable and a pad hack. I hacked a cheap snes scart cable to split audio to a cheap amp that the cab speaker is connected to (I suppose even better would be to lift the audio pins from the TV's scart socket and run the audio from there). If it's any inspiration here are some pics. I made a quick job of it rather than a great job. I cut some spare skirting board with a jigsaw to mount the tube between, and it just rests in place.

Alternatively, I do have this Jammacon that I'll probably sell funnily enough. It includes a PC Engine adapter among others and I'll be looking to shift as a bundle so I'm not stuck with the extras. Expensive solution though. I feel it's more suited to keeping a precious cabinet unmeddled than throwing in a woody project.

The MiSTer FPGA project supports a vast library of PC Engine Super CD-ROM² games, offering highly accurate emulation of the system's CD-ROM² add-on. Top titles include Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Gate of Thunder, Ys Book I & II, and Bomberman '94, all of which benefit from the enhanced storage and audio capabilities of the CD format. [1, 2, 3, 4].

NIce. I don't own any MiSTer kit and know nothing about setting it all up. One of the main reasons I want to use original hardware is that there's no messing about with setting up software and endlessly tweaking things.

One good thing about emulating the CD-ROM sub-system is that everything loads much faster than CD-ROM. One thing I like about playing using my turbo everdrive Pro.

And no scratched Cd or dying laser /skpping laser

Suit case ver is sketchy I hear …

I can’t recommend this podcast to you enough .

This guy was involved in back engineering pc engine back in the day …

Hé rates the pc emulation of pc engine ..
Let alone the quality of the Fpga typed pc engine .
It’s glorious .. when you’re ready to get one.

I’m sure a good knock off pc engine with USB pads must exists in Japan .. vert Vic might know hé is into his cloned knock off consoles.

Like analogue n64 I just got
Why don’t they include analogue rgb signal ?

It’s got analoge in the name and it’s all digital ? Go figure ..

Pc engine mini if it had an analogue rgb out I would
Have bought 3

I've got a spare PC Engine I can use. Only have a Duo for CD-ROM games, so can't comment on the suitcase.

it’s a magical little machine.
I totally get why you want to play on original hardware .

The immerhax micro controller multiplexer looks the way to go …
Tempted my self now ..
I have the scart rgb amp ready in my new cab project.

Just looking for a componants list ..
Board is only 15$
Parts should all be easy enough to get in uk

If all can be assembled for £30 cool little interface
