I recently made a PC build...

Really can't thank you enough for this Chunksin, just got it installed on a new pc, followed your instructions & now it's running great on my video wizard jamma cab. I was using maximus arcade & soft15khz before.

Is it using mame 0.220 like it says in the instructions? Just wanted to check before I download loads of roms.

To answer my own question, it is 0.220 included on the image.

I just tried to update it using JonnyG's groovymame, I put it in the root of the usb, selected the upgrade mame option in the utility menu of attractmode, after about a minute it said "mame upgrade complete" or something like that but when I go back to windows to check, the version is still 0.220?

Not sure why it's not working, can I just replace the 0.220 mame64.exe with this new 0.242 version manually? or are there other steps needed?

I just manually replace the mame exe and it works fine.

Have you checked the spelling of the exe your upgrading to matches the existing one ?

Yeah, I named it mame64.exe, the utility menu upgrade option didn't work so I replaced it manually same as you & it worked but I was having a few weird issues with the game list not being in alphabetical order etc.

I generated a new mame.xml file using the "mame.exe -listxml > mame.xml" command & replaced the xml file in the AttractAdditional folder & it seems to be working as it should now.

I dont know how familiar you are with Attract Mode.If your pretty new I have Tag files made up for the AllKillerNoFiller Genres.

I'm totally new to it mate but doing lots of reading online & slowly figuring it out. My jamma cab has been using a really old pc with maximus arcade frontend for years (Jpac & soft15khz).

Finally got around to giving it an upgrade & really liking it so far, the combination of Chunksin's windows 7 build, groovymame, attractmode, crtemudrivers & vmmaker is so much better than what I was using before.

AllKillerNoFiller sounds good

I'd love to check that out, if you don't mind sharing. Cheers!

Is any way of getting generic usb drivers back on my
Pc as they are gone and I can’t get them back
For roms etc.
device manager has warning icon on the usb sockets
So I can’t use usb ( but strangely keyboard and mouse is ok?

Can I connect to sky router cat cable and download usb driver
Whilst logged in as admin before starting the instillation wizard

Did you install drivers for your pc model? Try removing the USB package already installed from the control panel, reboot and install the ones specific to your pc from the manufacturer website

Just wanted to say
I’m still using an early embedded groovy ver.

I have 2 images a 3.8gig and a 4gig
I used the 3.8gig image ..
Is there a better ver out now?

Also is it possible to include generic universal usb driver?
Is there not a universal windows usb driver?

Why do my mouse & keyboard work
Do they have on board drivers on chip
And if so can I get a usb hard drive with
On chip driver usb driver.. to self identify

Removing the Intel USB package is probably the easiest way, it doesn't appear to work with everything as you've discovered. Windows should install all USB 2.0 ports automatically, USB 3.0 will need additional drivers. I had the same issue on a newer Dell PC not long ago, mouse and keyboard worked but the mouse cursor was behaving strangely and external storage didn't work, removed the package and installed the recommended drivers and it was fine after that.

I had the same problem... Windows wouldn't recognise an external USB drive or a USB stick, and I couldn't install the manufacturer USB driver because the external USB drive wasn't recognised. Catch 22.

I didn't have an Internet connection but my workaround was to install the manufacturer USB driver to the same USB stick as Macrium Reflect. Booted into Macrium and copied the driver from USB to C drive. Booted windows and installed the USB driver from C.

If I recall, it wasn't obvious how to copy the driver to the C drive using Macrium but I managed it eventually.

My idea was to add another internal drive
But with a usb caddy write the usb drivers which just seemed so long a work round
As my dell pc annoyingly only
Has 1 power connector for internal drives. Sods law

Why is it the macrium usb pen drive acknowledged ?

Is there like during the boot sequence a allowance for it

I am no expert but Macrium isn't booting into Windows and the problem appears to be with the Windows USB driver. You may need to play with you bios settings so that the PC boots from the USB stick with Macrium on it, and not the hard drive...

The Macrium boot disk is a really cut down Windows 10 based environment you can access a command line using the icon on the taskbar or use the 'browse...' explorer windows to copy the file that way. If its a Dell you can hammer F12 on boot up which gives you a one time boot menu and access the BIOS

3040 dell optiplex ..

No usb driver , but 3 drivers relating to storage

I have download all the drivers anyway..

I have put my macrium pen drive in my laptop
And ….. my laptop don’t recognise it ?
Although I do get the obligatory ding dong as I put it in … like the laptop is just laughing at me ..

So I’m adding all files to another pen drive in the hope that if I re install
The macrium upon the white window my dell 3040 will see the over Cruzer thumb drive

I have 2 pen drives with macrium.
1 windows says this file system is not recognised
I will need to reformat to be able to view files

2nd drives opens and I have added a file dell drivers .
I’m hopping I can get my dell to boot from this pen drive then some how add drivers across to main ss drive

Got roms across

Computer said my .net frame work is not up to scratch for some of the drivers.

Basically all drivers for my model using the service tag didn’t help the usb drives.
But I did get roms across to my hard drive

Just now just trying to configure rom path
And lLauncher not sure if it auto configuration setting all drive letter to D is correct ?

I know my main drive is C..
Do I need to change the launcher location
Or is groovy mame installed in a partition location D:/?
