Great to hear you got it working

sounds like maybe you didn't find the automated installer under the Start Menu?

Well chuffed...
it’s fantastic.

Honestly I don’t know. I had been using the auto installer.

Will the auto installer cycle through all the different versions of crt emu drivers until it finds the compatible 1 for which ever gpu card is installed?
As long as it’s a calamity approved gpu that is?

I have Razoolas Neo geo bios 4 and Neo geo diagnosis bios. If you would like 1 of each
Or you may choose a bubble bobble mvs cart

For your hard work compiling this

Or pp you some beer tokens

Glad to hear you’re all sorted.
EDID Emulation is an option in VMM that creates a monitor profile for your arcade screen so your pc recognises it and sends the appropriate signal. It binds it to the video output of your GPU.
Chunksin’s installer should do it all automatically but I think I messed with something and had to do it manually in the end, but it all worked fine in the end.

Ok cool
I will look for the edid option
Thanks...
I got the 120 mode lines

It’ was strange that even when I created a new
Path for the crt emu driver to install to d
It still was saying not enough space?
Like it had an underwriter to send it to c:

And I think c might have truncated?
As It seems to have gotten full over time I have been tinkering

If it’s all working then I’d say leave it as it is!
I’ve got a tip for everyone. I’ve got 3 PC groovymame setups based on Chunksins Win7 image and it’s fantastic.
For my Blast Cab, I wanted to extend it to play Naomi, Atomiswave and Model 2/3 games.
Using the presets in VMM, I’ve got it working perfectly, switching to 25khz and 31khz. However, I was struggling to get full speed from Demul. I tried everything, kept upgrading the CPU and GPU, till eventually I had the highest spec that will work with CRT Emudriver - 4Ghz i7 4790k and R9 380x GPU - even then I couldn’t get full speed despite messing with every setting and trying all sorts of drivers, for hours!
In the end I read about performance on Windows 10 so I installed that on a spare drive and it absolutely worked a treat. I’m not sure why, I assume Windows 10 has better Direct3D or OpenGL drivers but Demul works perfectly.
I’m unsure now if I needed to waste the extra £250 on the PC upgrades, but the Windows 10 upgrade did it.
Might not be relevant to anyone that wants to play 15khz games - in fact my lowest spec pc is an i3 2.4GHz pc with a £15 HD 5450 GPU and that plays almost all MAME games perfectly. It’s only if you want modern 3D games you’ll need the high spec. Demul in particular is very GPU intensive.
Hope this is useful to someone.

This is slighty peculiar as I run DC, Saturn etc. Perfectly on my Optiplex 3010 with an old 4000 series radeon. The cpu is nowhere need the speed of the Devil's Canyon you have and there are no issues. This is using Windows 7. I use my own build rather than the read only image, but I can't see how that would make that much difference.

It was driving me crazy. I dont know if certain drivers were missing from that Windows 7 build. I'm quite comfortable with PC's and Windows, and I messed around for a while in the OS and even swapped graphics cards for nvidia ones too to test that.
I'm running Demul for maximum compatability - I tried Flycast and that worked alright, but it doesnt emulate Naomi2. I'd also had Demul working perfectly on other PCs so I was confused at why.

My lowest spec is also an Optiplex 3010 on the Windows 7 image (with HD 5450) and that won't do Demul at full speed. My benchmark games are VF4 (Naomi2), CvSNK2(Naomi1) and Fist of the NorthStar (Atomiswave) - I have all these on original hardware and the difference is noticable. If someone could figure out what the problem is, that will no doubt save other people the cost/hassle!

I have Naomi's, NetDimms and PiLoaders too, but they are the flakiest things. I've had several and they all work but are tempremental, hence why I was so keen to get Demul working

I had it at 640x480 with and without v-sync and that didn’t make a difference.
I tried with and without the ATI specific settings in Demul too.
I had it at 30hz (which I assume is interlaced) and 60hz (which I assume would be progressive)
Anyone else got Demul at full speed on Windows 7?

I have had full speed demul
I to use fist of north as benchmark
Win7
Dx11

Demul has some boxes to tick
To get best results but can’t list my
Set up
But I found it was the version of demul that matters

-I’m having an issue in this embedded groovy-
A. Few games not running. Game try’s to load then returns to game select screen.
Just Wondering if anyone els has maybe had the same issue?

I think firstly it’s to do with the screen orientation/resolution?

Most of my games load fine.
But a few don’t and I think it’s poss the set up of orientation of the screen. In both windows and mame?

Maybe the cps2 is bios/ chd issue though as none cps2 load? Is there a folder for chd or bios?

Do I put bios in with roms as normal?
Also in vmm set up options should I set fixed vertical as my screen is in tate mode
And in windows should I be using portrait or landscape mode?

I notice that the little loading symbol changes res when trying to load a game...
For instance if I chooses super resolutions the loading symbol will be different more ssquezzed when I try Donpachi
From when I try to load Donpachi after installing mode-line from say mame favourites but same games
Never load?
And all my working games started but require rotating 90 degrees and still work great
But the games that don’t work I cannot get to work no matter what I try

Non working games I cannot get to sync/load...
hot dog
Donpachi
Dodonpatchi
All cps2

And I’m just wondering if switch res rejects the window orientation as that messes the res? Like they need the correct orientation to start with?

Like it’s my orientation set ups that Won’t let them load as it’s messing with switch res?
Or if the fact that they are being squashed
Side ways first is stopping these titles?
Is there a work around for this?

I know these are good roms as I same roms
I use in other emulator set ups

Sounds like you are missing some bios files in your romset. Check you have qsound.zip for CPS2, if you launch mame from the command line it will tell you what's missing.

Yeh I got ; between..

would you set your monitor orientation in vmm?
Because I have switched it from hori to vert in vmm. Recommend or leave it hori?
Mame video. Set rotate on
Rotate 90

Windows orientation is landscape..

Does any one have a standard set up for these 3 screen orientation options ?
As I find they all clash with each other
