The 4 board set has been wrapped up in the packaging for the 2 board set and is safe and sound. will look into getting it fixed in the future!

so those are the most up to date photos.

the side art had only been stuck on with blue tac, still need to stick it permanently. Having nothing to compare it too the side art looks really good! was from mikes arcade too and the quality is very good! same can be said for the CPO !

stuff still to do

1.) I need to find some new bolts for the coin door ,had I had to saw some off due to rust.

2.) new coin door lock

3.) make a back door

4.) get screen fixed

so last one has been a bit of a ball ache.

Got very excited when 2 board set arrived

put it in worked great.

Colours werent great though but go better longer it was left on.

turned it on next the day , colours great! played a load of games.

but since then image is not stabilising , vertically and horizontally!

Also turn the sound down and see if that affects the screen stabilization - the sound amp is on the monitor chassis and it can affect the screen.

Yeah all wiring is the same for 2 board/ 4 board. theres just one plug thats not needed , think its for the sound board on the 4 board set? its just left not plugged into anything.

Looks very good, nice work indeed! As Oliver mentioned, the monitor def needs a cap kit

Edit - There is a cap kit available for the audio board also from arcadeshop.com, not sure if mike does one?

its got and edge connector but has all the connections from the 4 board set too.

Re capping looks a bit daunting but i know it needs to be done, At least its a pretty cheap fix!

Well done, you have done a great job whilst keeping its integrity.
Got a Mario Wide body I am currently doing myself, which was a little more marked up than your DK, so I am having to go all in!!

Hoping to get it finished and reassembled next week with a bit of luck.

You did the right thing leaving the original paint on there,it looks like the best donkey kong I have seen & full of character.
With the history of being a radar scope too it sets it apart from other machines.
Well worth the money mate thanks for sharing that with us .

Thanks for all the comments guys. I researched it a lot before taking it on. There's quite a few red dk cab restoration blogs/posts on the net. I don't have a garage to be able to strip and sand the whole thing, and as iv said before with this one it doesn't need it, git more character as it is. Still haven't sorted the screen out yet but will be done soon. Just don't want to balls it up!
