With regards to the steps, I read it as: Step 2, make sure your Pi is running at 5.25v before connecting up the RGB adapter. Step 3: Make sure your control panel or service switches don’t send any voltages and are simply ground connections. An example might be if you have a spinner connected on your control panel which uses 5v and it might be wired up in a way which could cause a problem.
Someone else might be able to clarify step 9, but I thought with Etcher it automatically formats the SD card and burns the image file to the correct format when you select the file.

It refers to pin 3. On the Pi GPIO that’s a non-powered pin but pin 3 on the Jamma connector is 5v so I assume it’s referring to the cab rather than the Pi?

Not great instructions, I've ordered a scart version for which the instructions are a simpler.
From noob to noob here's what I think this means but don't quote me, I'm sure somebody will come along and clarify.
2. I think this just means adjust the voltage on your arcade PSU to 5.25v
3. I would guess this means make sure no buttons a pressed
9. I think this means just burn the image in the usual way. i.e. just write the image as is don't try and extract anything.
edit. sorry didn't realise there was a page 2 where QJUK had already replied. I agree it's the cab side though that is assuming that the pi is being powered by the arcade PSU.

I currently hook up jamma boards, and MVS 1 slot or a pc via a jpac with no issues so is it likely I’d need to adjust something, and how would I do that? I’m hoping I don’t need to start making changes to my setup so I can easily switch between boards.

I don't know what the standard voltage is I guess it could go up or down a bit depending on the game.
I imagine you adjust the voltage via a potentiometer on the PSU. I would check this with a multi meter to make sure it's correct because the GPIO pins are unregulated so a little too much voltage and you could fry the PI.

Yeah that's the way to do it, you should make a note of the current voltages if everything else is working fine as is. For the Pi your only concerned with the +5V so you don't need to check anything else.

Good idea. I’ll make a note. I’m hoping the voltage is already close enough that it won’t require changing but we’ll see. I guess if the Pi works well I won’t need to hook up my SF2 board too often anyway., which is what I normally swap in if I’m not using MAME.
Once my RGB-Pi arrives and I get everything working I’ll try and put together some more comprehensive instructions for setup from start to finish and chuck them on here somewhere for anyone else thinking of grabbing one.

You have to put the voltage a little higher (5.25V without anything plugged in) as I think it seems there is a protection diode in line which will drop the voltage a little.
While you are waiting for the delivery, you can download the O/S from the website.
Next thing you need to do is sign up to the discord message board and verify in the verify section that you have purchased a unit by posting a picture of it... This is VERY important. (Keeps the riff raff out )
Once you have been verified, you should be allowed full access to information on how to configure the unit correctly.
Took me a while to work this out !!

This is a very helpful thread, you've inspired me to order one of these as well. The developers' website says this can be used in an MVS setup with stereo. Has anyone tried using theirs in an MVS cab?
I will report back my results once I get everything together.

Anyone else got theirs yet ? - I am having some trouble with the controls in a 3 button cab and also with a supergun. So some hopefully simple teething problems.
If I can get the input issue sorted, then this thing is pretty amazing !

Mine arrived today, just in time for the weekend!
I have found issues with my 3 button cab and 3 button supergun, but I tried it this morning in another machine that has 4 buttons wired in and it's working very well first time (but the escape to menu button is mixed up). I think there is a slight issue / feature / bug in this respect, but its still being developed.
As it is a Spanish developed unit, I think there are some language barriers on the message board.
I am going to do some further testing to see if I can nail down the issue further, but it would be good if other users reported the same problems - 3 button games in 3 button cabs ( I also think 2 button games in 2 button cabs might cause issues too) - It's still early days yet !!

I’ve only got a six button cab but will report back any issues. Just trying to set up the SD card and get my ROMs sorted. Had a bit of a nightmare with OSX Catalina but set up a VM running windows and managed to extract the ROMs that way.
I think I’m pretty much done now on the software side, just need to drag the cab out so I can adjust the PSU and then hook everything up. Hoping it’s plain sailing from here on in.

Oh, question. Do I need to plug the unit in and run it once I’ve used etcher to write the OS to the SD card, and then install ROMs after I’ve done that? I saw a message on discord that seemed to suggest that was the case? If anyone can confirm and save me some faffing that would be awesome.
Just received mine in the instructions it mentions the following but I didn't receive any piece just the PCB anyone know if its needed or necessary?
1. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP, Put one of the ? pieces in pin 7 of the jamma harness
Also does anyone have a link to where the image can be downloaded or know what romsets it uses?

Check the foam the unit shipped in, my pieces were on the opposite side to the pcb.
You can download the os from the website, and you should have received a link from the manufacturer that invites you to a Telegram channel where you can download various ROM packs.

I used 7-zip to unpack images and such things.
I have used a trial version of Linux file system on my pc to copy files over (but you can do this over the network).
See my instructions in RED above, once you have registered with picture, it should become clear and you will find some links. You will need a password when unpacking certain things and it's 'pixelporn'
Good luck guys, I wasted hours and hours with my buttons but worked well in my 4 button cab, and when I put it back in my 3 button cab that works too !!
