I had such a great time this weekend guys... thank you so much for your hospitality (and bacon sarnie in the morning

)

There were so many great games I loved playing but soon stopped when I saw someone else totally smash it. My favourites of the night were definitely Bomb Jack (until Dave (bomjac) put a ridiculously high score onto it.) and Star Force is a cracking little shooter and it was so nice to finally find a game that could beat Dave Orton at...

And another that got alot of my attention was the awesome Raiden Fighters... which between myself, John bud, bomjac and Mike (cosine) I don't hink that cab was ever left with an empty seat. Sadly though my best score was laid down right at the start of the evening and I seemed to get progressively worse and increasingly frustrated. But it is now in my cab at home and next I see you JB, I will beat your score.

So looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next meet which will be the opening of the XXX (new place)..., so where are we posting our suggestions of the name as I have a few ideas now.

Hey Guys

Back in the land of living now, had a day yesterday of falling victim to the couch and TV.

I didn't play a single game all night Saturday night until about 1:30am when I got to play R-Type for all of 5 mins.

There was a mass surge of people like a queue for a nightclub in the early days at 8pm when everyone seemed to arrive all at once.

I've passed everyone's thanks on to Carol, she helps out as much as she can with the events and tries to boss everyone else about so I can get on with things - it never works that way but we're all trying.

The total number attending was actually 94 in the end with a few drop-offs, last mins and +1's I wasn't expecting.

BIG NEWS

At the party, I made an announcement about the future, it'll all be posted on the website sometime tomorrow and at 8pm the links will be put on facebook, twitter, youtube etc at the same time. I will start a new thread on here posting the link to the website page and info around teatime.

I know there's probably been a bunch of pm's flying around in the background - scarily most people have left me alone to recoup so i'll do a live Q&A at 10pm tomorrow night (25/02) via Google Hangout this should give people time to have seen the video.

The G+ page is: https://plus.google.com/+RetrogamespartyCoUk

I don't think you have to follow the page but it might help if you did.

I'll post a hangout link all you have to do is have a microphone plugged in (cameras optional), click the link at 10pm and it should join you, we'll do random chat for 5-10 mins to let anyone join and then i'll take any questions about whats going on.

I'll also record the session and post it as well so anyone who can't can still get to see it.

nice drive up there to rgp lair.

it was awsome in just 1 appartment but now its ultra awsome in 2 appartments.

oo thats my name nomination for the new arcade. "ULTRACADE"

the atmosphere there just blows you back to the 80's with such enthusiasm for the gaming being shown.

i managed to speak to a few people there but there were loads i wanted to meet but got too wrapped up in gaming.

the bacon butties in the morning were much appreciated.

So I suppose you have posted this just to remind me of your 2.5mil score..? It is now installed into one of my cabs so I will be practicing for when we meet again.

Just got back from being away with work for a week, so just had time to listen to the Google hangout Q&A.
I just want to say that it was a thoroughly enjoyable 90mins viewing. Even tho I haven't had a chance to meet either of you in person yet, you both came across really well on camera and it was a very entertaining and informative view! All the best and I hope I can be a part of it at some point!
