I am willing to help you take all those boards and throw them in the bin!!

That sounds like fighting talk, Mr. Fish. You get stuck in there mate, I'll hold your wallet.

Last years Video hiscore compo I think ironed out kinks, but this year we'll want to maximize on this on many levels...

I'm not sure the 2011 Classic Video Game Tournament was a 'hiscore compo', but if we're going to maximise it on many levels then we need:

1) tournament quality machines

2) tournament settings

3) better prep

4) better advertising

5) somewhere better to put the machines

6) helpers

7) ideas

8) other stuff I haven't thought of yet

So, who's coming to the show?

Do we use the pinball show tournament qualifying format (play x games from a selection of y machines, scores ranked, top players go to play off rounds) or something different?

Does it stay as a Classic vids tournament?

Do we have one tournament or more?

Who's going to commit to bringing what?

Who's going to commit to helping out?

What's the show timetable so far and when can we fit in the video game tourno?

How many people will take part (Oll?)?

How do we stop Greg from running away with it?

Where do the trophies come from this time?

So many questions...

Oi Bazfish I knew you would cause trouble.

Those JAMMA games are great. The idea is to provide better JAMMA games than other events. Nearly all the other events are up North so this is a chance for South based collectors to show off their sh*t. That's my plan as I would like to share my pcbs and ensure people get to play the best games.

As for the classics well the plan is to bring...

Firefox, I,Robot, Missile Command (special one..), Discs of Tron Environmental, Super Zaxxon, Liberator and some other classic cool shizzle that is yet undecided.

Saying that though this might be a good idea to play some classic games on the Candy Cabs.

Stuff like Mr.Do and Pacman or something - anyone got any ideas?

Double negative there Oll... poor English, you cant have the words Jamma and Great in the same sentence

However I did have the worlds only R-Type 2 that i converted to Major Title... and then threw in the bin

That provided me with minutes of entertainment

In all seriousness if you are going to have portaloos there have them running "classics" ie pre 28 way... if you HAVE to have a token 28 way make it a Capcom... just for the sake of fair play!

Am i going to be moderated now... or do ya want some more!

This sounds awesome!

I'm happy to offer up my Sega Rally u/r for the weekend, if anyone's interested in
playing it - and, more importantly, if anyone can transport it? I don't have the means unfortunately.

cheers

I'll be coming; the jamma games listed are all pretty good, apart,
funnily enough from Black Tiger, which I fired up the other day and came
to the conclusion it's a bit rubbish. FWIW I'm not interested in
tournament gaming, just a chance to play some good classic games and
pins. The pins were the best part of the show last year although that's hardly surprising, I assume the vids will be coming on form over the coming years, maybe get some of the volume knobs turned up on them this year? :)

Rav/Oll do you have a wanted list of cabs/pcbs for the slam? Goes without saying that Bazfish needs a whole slew of jamma favourites but what about the rest?

Need 6 Candy cabs for my idea of JAMMA/classic pcb with JAMMA adapter heaven.

And Karl - Black Tiger is one of the best JAMMA games ever, check out YouTube vids - it is truly awesome.

You really need a line up of the classics so far as they go (and yes I know this is very much a personal list !)

Pacman

Pacman, Ms Pac, Pacland

Midway

Galaxian, Galaga, Gorf

Williams

Defender, Stargate, Robotron, Joust, I-Robot

Atari

Battlezone, Asteroids etc

Missile Command, Centipede, Millipede, Crystal Castles

Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi

Konami

Track and Field

Hyper Sports

Zookeeper

Nintendo

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong 3

Jamma - Platforms

Bubble Bobble

Rainbow Islands

Candy Cabs

Gotta have some Cave shooters there

Space Invaders, part 1, part 2 etc

Just so people can stop by, play a game and then walk away shaking their head saying "it was so much better in 1977"

Notably there are no driving games - again, its a personal list and I CBA with driving games.
