Good stuff. Hopefully a constructive point...
If at all possible (ie, probably given a little more floor space) I'd like to be able to have 'up to' 2 plays on each game. So you can take your 1st score if your happy with it, or not, asthe case may be. Possibly at an extra charge. I know it'll never happen, but the problem for me was, I knew I was hopeless at Jedi, SI was ok, liberator I'd oly ever had on the workbench, but the rest, I'd either never ever played before, or in the case of Tron, you really can't get a reasonable score on the light cycles if you haven't played for a couple years.

This is an absolutely valid suggestion and if I'd have known the entrant numbers and loading beforehand, I think that would have worked fine.
However, last year, I didn't know how many people would compete, so I allowed I think 3 (or it might have been 5) entries per person maximum, but only 1 person decided to buy a second entry (which was a wise move, as it enabled him to win the tournament!).
Something we did for the European Pinball Championships in 2009, when we had over 160 competitors, 18 qualification machines and lots of on the day assistance, was to have a Joker, a physical card that the player hands to the referee which entitles them to play one of their games again. It worked great and several European tournaments have copied our format exactly, but we've never used the Joker since because we're always close to running out of time.
At the end of the day, I had to make a call regarding how may players would register, how much time it takes to play a game, how much it would cost and also factor in that I didn't have any time beforehand to advertise for helpers (i.e. expecting to have to run the whole thing on my own). There was also no time to set up the machines on tournament settings and 100 other factors.
Nonetheless, next time, whenever that is, hopefully conditions will allow some better preparation up front, more discussion and involvement with you guys to make it cool and get some buzz, and maybe it will not cause as many surprises to some of the visitors on the day!
