Simply legendary. Community spirit at it's best. I'm keen to know who travelled the furthest to be part of this - any non-UK?

Hey Jodo,

Check out Superullys link below. Darth Nuno has started his roadtrip adventure over on DLF. They are usually pretty epic on there! I suggest when you have time to make your way through them all. He even has one for a Galaxian3.

Wow!

Oll told me he was doing this the night before, I didn't realise it was going to be soo EPIC :D

It must of been great just wandering around the boat, let alone finding the cabs :)

Amazing, used to pass that ship everyday on the way to work a few years back, would never have guessed it hid such gems. Great work to all for saving these.

Nice write up Oliver, well organised also, nice one you boys!

I'll never look at a Ship in the same way again, off down to Southampton Docks at the weekend....

" ello mate, got any cabs on board?? "

I know I'm not as dedicated as some so this won't count for much but just wanted to say Epic job! It's not hard to see that so much hard work and dedication has gone into this.

Well done all those involved especially Alpha (much respect!)

I've just spent hours looking at pics and reading various threads. I've never enjoyed reading a thread so much as this! INFACT I've never enjoyed time sat at a computer screen so much (and that includes Pornhub)

It's not just about the cabs it's so much more, something you will always remember what a truely epic tale.

Personally I would have got a boner just walking around the ship! What a time warp!! but with cabs sitting there untouched for 30 years aswell!! I mean 30 years!! Seriously!

What was it 1983 it got locked up? The same year I was born! Thats my ENTIRE LIFE those cabs have been sat there untouched...thats the part I find so amazing....all of that time! Wow the thought just blows my mind - AMAZING.

Thankyou

Did you contemplate contacting the local media or even the BBC to meet you there on the day? I bet they would have been interested in reporting the story.

...they still might be interested.

Ok a photo gallery is now open to ukvac! For a start theres a little image on the right - plus a manual link is:

http://www.ukvac.com/gallery/

You'll find another ton of unreleased pictures of the visit to the boat, the cabs and indeed a undocumented virtually seocnd trip last month!!!

More pictures to come from the unloading section!

Enjoy :)

Absolutley marvellous. It'd be quite funny/interesting for someone to post some of those as a 'permission visit' on 28days later as things seem to have gone full circle. Although I assume the boat owners might not be too keen on that?

This was a cab raid of epic proportions. Still can't believe they just sat there for all those years. It does make you wonder if there are any more stashes like this out there.

Hi!

Can I just say that this is one of the most awesome threads ever posted on any messageboard ever! :)

I only lived 5-10 mins away from the Fun Ship, and my parents took me to visit it a couple of times, which would have been right before it closed ... I can't remember jack about any of the arcade machines (except that there were lots of them!) as I would have only been 5 at the time ... but I certainly remember going on that little helicopter contraption, which features in several of the photos! :)

Anyway, well done on persevering with the 'rescue' and cheers for both taking and sharing so many fine pics! :)
