He was quite a nice bloke, took it on the chin, I actually felt a little sorry for him as the whole organisation were under surveillance, from the second he said ‘yes’ he was going to prison, he just didn’t know it.
Anyway, to go back to the original thread, personally I would rather deal with consequences when something happens then do something even worse and have to spend the rest of my life worrying about being caught.

Let’s hope that there is no criminality here, no one still knows what has actually happened, as unlikely as it seems there could be an innocent explanation to it all, although the longer it goes on without explanation the less likely that will be the case.

Surely in a community like this someone is actually friends with him and can find out what is going on.

Continuing to trade, with the knowledge that a company (limited or not) is a criminal offense.
Also, taking a customer's money, also knowing that the goods won't be delivered is also a criminal offense.
I know they police will be catching up with him at some point.
Pretty sure Inland Revenue are also looking for him, since he was reported to them in case he runs off with his tax money.

Personally, I couldn't care less how nice the guy is, he stole, pure and simple.

If you are not able to get your money back, and considering the reasoning why you wanted to make the kit, I will make the kit for you at my cost, as long as you are able to pay the £50 shipping cost. Contact me at knockoutarcades.com and we can take it from there. Scott

Hi Scott,
That's is very kind of you. I would still be prepared to pay you for your work.
I did hear from my bank about the missing money. I have to wait until mid-july for a definitive answer to getting the refund back.
I have been browsing your site (Knockoutarcades.com, if im right?) and will most likely go there once I know if I'm getting the money back or not. I might hold out until then if you don't mind. I will absolutely keep everyone updated on what's happening with my case.

I apologise for my rant yesterday folks, I'm sure you all appreciate it (especially guys who have also lost money), that it's very frustrating, having to rearrange my own finances, because something went wrong with Andy's business.

I agree that yes, if put in a particular situation, that he may have to choose between feeding a family and repaying refunds, but he should have considered that some of his customers may be in a similar position, and might not be able to afford the loss of whatever amount they spent?

To be fair, the only reason that the police are involved at my end is because I had to obtain a crime number for the bank, so that it can be forwarded to the CC/DC company. The reason its been forwarded to Fraud is because the crime was out of the jurisdiction of my local police and was asked to contact Lancashire police who forwarded the case on.

It's very frustrating, but because of the whole process (I'm changing my bank after this is sorted, because if I had been with another bank, my refund would have been overnight, rather than 90 days).

I think, I'm just more disappointed about the whole scenario, as I had always seen around the Internet over the years that AWUK was the place to go (I actually remember Gremlin Solutions, and did not realise they were the same place).
I think it's because that when I eventually bit the bullet and went to get what i needed that I got let down.
I would have thought that if AWUK was as important to this community (which it was), that if Andy had reached out, he would have got the help, so it wouldn't result in the loss of a prominent supplier.
I know I've only recently registered here (because of what's going on with AWUK), but this forum was a big source on all of my research, like what kit to buy, tools, mostly lurking for info to eventually bite the bullet and build a cab (without blowing something up lol).

Anyhow, I won't be ranting about this anymore, and like anyone still waiting to hear back from their banks, is just wait it out.

Again though, Scott, I really appreciate the offer, I will get back to you and we can arrange something, closer to the time I'm due to hear back from the bank.

No worries, offer is there, yes it's the right website. All our other woodworking non-arcade items come from dustshack.co.uk - Lucky we diversified otherwise we would be worse off.

Hi folks,
I just received a call from my bank.
They have told me that Andy Pickering has disputed my refund.
He has said that he sent me my items, but failed to provide evidence of having sent them.
I was told that if I fail my appeal of his dispute, it will cost me another £45, bringing the total to almost £400.

I have a feeling our "friend" is monitoring this thread.

He's a complete scumbag. At least now, everyone knows he's a scumbag.

Hmm... yeah, well, that's what cowardly people like him do, they run away and hide. He's probably disputed my case because I passed out info about him and where he does business.
I'll tell you this though. I have a LOT more info than I shared here, it's with the appropriate authorities, so they could catch him in case he decides to go for a "holiday".

Believe me, I'm very thorough.

Can you go onto our website and send me your name and when you made a purchase? Although we fulfilled everything and had no outstanding orders I want to double check we never got anything from AWUK where it was sent out but never sent to you.

Even though retro gaming is now so popular the communities are quite niche. Fancy trying to do a runner and thinking it would go unnoticed? Poor showing indeed, he's absolutely ruined his whole legacy basically as being the UK's go to place for arcade stuff. Just goes to show some people are only nice and helpful when the money is rolling in.

The community is definitely very small. As far as I'm aware, there aren't too many places, if any where I am (I'm not mainland UK).

I could probably sew up the market here for myself. 🤣
There isn't even an arcade where I live 🤣🤣

I can't believe he's gone and ripped everyone off. Surely if he would of put on the AWUK website and socials that he had been scammed then his loyal user base would of helped out? Such a shame. Like most others I'm now having to look elsewhere when he had the market cornered in the UK.

Guys,
I got a call from my bank today, I was credited my money back.
I'm hoping that everyone else got their money back, I would be interested in knowing if anyone else is still waiting.
I did have to put off my build for a few months because of the whole AWUK fiasco, so will come back to my build again in a few months (I'm also studying for a degree at the min).

Thanks to all of the guys who supported me, backed me and helped me to get my refund.
