I will be honest Mark, I've slept on Metal Slug 5 for a long time. Will have to fire it up at some point as I feel I've exhausted all the others. This week I have mainly be playing Donkey Kong for the Nintendo Switch, first official port of it's type I believe. Not the same as a cab but great for practice

I'm back on Raiden Fighters by Seibu Kaihatsu (released in 1996). Excuse the poor pics. This game looks stunning on a Sony Trinitron CRT TV in TATE mode. This is one of the best vertical shoot 'em ups I've ever played. The sound track is outstanding too.

Now on Espgaluda II- a beautiful and captivating shooter from Cave from 2005. I'm playing it on a CRT in TATE mode. Again poor pictures but it looks stunning in the flesh.

This week I'm back on an all time favourite Phoenix. A brutal game in many ways but once you've tried it you're hooked. Original PCB on a CRT of course...

Too right, the holy trinity of my childhood arcade memories Phoenix, Scramble and Moon Cresta.

I'm playing Cosmic Monsters at the moment on my table machine - managed to score over 7K for the first time last night.

Throw a bit of Defender and Asteroids in and that just about sums up my young arcade days.

I'm currently playing Nibbler and Mr TNT I never saw either of these in an arcade, but I'm enjoying playing them both, gawd knows how people marathon Nibbler it get that fast its almost impossible to control the snake which always gets too big too quick.

Missile Command

I would like to repeat what BC says in the documentary High Score ' I'm kicking this games ass ' but that would be a lie as the game is kicking mine!

It's like walking into a bar, having a few beers and then asking Bruce Lee outside for a punch up.

Those smart bombs, as soon as I see one I see absolutely nothing else!!

I seriously suck but hope to get 100k in the next month or so. (no bonus cities)

Love it!

HOTD 3, simple SEGA mindless fun for 20 minutes. NTSC 60fps running on a 25" Sony Trinitron CRT at 60Hz. Again excuse the poor phone picture. Looks stunning in the flesh.

Battlezone with intermittent Missile Command for me at the moment, probably because the Battlezone is finally working for the first time in my 15+ years owning the cab.

Missile Command seriously needs a cap kit now though.

Missile Command continues to give me a good hiding.

Improvements are coming but it's slow.

TT's big tip from his excellent book is to keep calm!!

You're having a laugh sir, maximum stress and terrible language seems to be key!

If I could only keep one cab, then this is it!

This week I have been mostly playing Legend of Hero Tonma. It's a rock solid little platformer, quite tough in parts and that final boss drove me up the wall. The "enter initials" screen has catchy music too.

The end credits name the character as "Tommy", so was it all a mistake like donkey Kong and it should have been legend of hero Tommy??

Definitely worth a look anyway :)
