Love a bit of Centipede, great game, wish I'd never sold mine.

Still "testing" the Battlezone cabaret at the moment. :)

"In the Hunt", played it over the weekend. Fantastic 2D animation and the team that made this game left Irem to form Nazca and they then made Neo Turf Masters and Metal Slug for the Neo-Geo before being absorbed into SNK. This game really does feel like an under water Metal Slug and it came out in 1993 three years after the Neo-Geo launched so the graphics are of SNK standard. I'm playing it on a CRT in 4:3 ratio (NTSC) at 240p resolution and running at 60Hz. Ignore the bad phone pictures, this is a stunning game.

Today was my first proper game on my Star Wars upright ever. Bored already.... I mean, how does it manage to be such a COOL game and yet so lacking in longevity in terms of game play?

I've just got my Shinobi board fired up for the first time after getting an adaptor this week years after buying it and then forgetting I had it, so thats my game of the week. I had to take it to my pals house who bought my old machine. I forgot its 1 hit and then you're dead, those old arcade games were HARD haha

Late 80s/early 90s was my era, but I'm getting plenty of play out of my 60-1 pcb!

Frogger, Donkey Kong, Qix, Arkanoid all very addictive!

Had a go of Air Buster the last couple days, still can't get past level 5.

Cool shoot em up with a bunch of quirky ideas thrown in. The speed tunnels in level 2 actually feel ultra fast, and in level 4 there's no gravity so if you push in any direction you keep going in that direction, basically you can't stay still. Fairly unique bosses and some great music here and there. Quite a challenge too!

Superman by taito. It crosses the extremely low bar of being the best Superman game ever made.

It's a bit shallow and it's a pity they didn't do more with the licence, but it looks nice with large sprites and a stonkingly good version of the theme music which sounds great with decent speakers.

Having played it on and off a few times today I had no right to enjoy it as much as I did (it's the music)!

Got a solid hour of playing rastan there, not continuing. Just really, really good. What a shame about the Conan licensing falling through.

Need to get the ROMs swapped to convert it to rastan saga (even though my board is labelled rastan saga already?). Some extra stuff in it that looks neat.

Funnily enough I remember playing rastan saga 3 in the arcades, but apparently it wasn't released officially outside Japan. Lucky. Would love to get that!

Another cool little video from patmanqc on YouTube too :)

Trying to understand these damn MANUAL gears.

In fact I will do a thread soon asking for advice. Some laps I can do a full lap without a gear grind, other laps, only 1 correct gear change.

I have tested switches etc, so I do believe user error, but I don't have a problem on any pc sims, or real life, so something is up! :)

I remember first seeing Ridge Racer when it came out and had a go on in Manual Mode, I lasted about a Minute from memory as I couldn't get to grips with it lol

I took on Spider-man the videogame, a.k.a hungover spidey kicks ass (you'll know what i mean if you've played this). Man that must have been a coin eater in the arcades. once you've beaten a full set of bosses once, (sandman, venom, electro, a lizard guy, green goblin god knows who else) i feel like you then meet them all again, or at least most of them on the way to beating up doom what seems like three or four times as he re-bars up. relentless. game looks so so good though. And although at the time people like hawkeye are left-field choices, gone down well in our house with modern avengers etc.

" Armed Police Batrider" - an amazing 1998 vertical shoot 'em up by Raizing. It's a brilliant game.

I did play it in Arcade Club (Bury) a few years ago too !

One to certainly play ! :)

A phone bad pic but you get the idea, 240p at 60Hz on a 25" Sony Trinitron CRT (TATE) via scart lead. This is on a PI3 (with a PI2 scart) and it plays pixel perfect too.

Raiden 2.

Much, much more difficult than I remember, but still great. Always liked the purple "bendy" laser beam and the different smart bombs have a proper BOOM to them.

Why does it say "Great Britain" on title screen?

I presume GREAT BRITAIN is the region the board (ROMs) were made for. They seemed to like regional control, like "not for use outside of JAPAN". Never really understood it, myself.
