To add to my waffle about extermination, I've discovered there are level warps/branching levels. No idea why or how they happen yet. Have made it to level 4 once and immediately died. Hard!

Collect all the drops from defeated enemies. They all add to your energy and the different colours mean different amounts. Blue is like 25 energy, red is 10. A single hit takes off a couple hundred at least. And good luck with the third boss it's ridiculous :p

Also, every time you take a hit you lose one option. But you can grab it back again if you're quick. And the robot suit acts as a shield so you can take a few hits without losing options, it also protects you from the water.

I skipped ahead in this pkaythrough to see how hard it gets (without spoiling the last leveks). First, the dude makes the game look easy, second, it looks like it gets nuts.

Skip to about the 28 min mark, crazy :)

So I've given up on extermination for now, level 4 is my limit so far. One for later.

This week I've been mostly wearing/playing kung fu master. Really simple but a lot of fun. The laugh from the bosses when they beat you is funny. Haven't gotten used to the running jump yet, bit awkward. But good stuff!

Back on OutRun 2, got a modded original Xbox (Chihiro equivalent), so NTSC option running at 60 fps via component cables so I get the high resolution mode (not HD). Brilliant driving game, one of the best IMO. These pictures do not do the game justice...

That looks a bit odd- why is the aspect ratio wrong on the text/hud/time, yet looks OK on the 3D ?

For a long time for nostalgia reasons Asteroids was a grail cab for me.
Mine is back in the house now after years in storage and WORKING!

I've played it twice and TBH I'm already getting bored. I think fixing them is more fun than playing.

I'm back on Metal Slug 5 (MVS), this is one great game, the soundtrack is amazing, SNK's last best game IMO and my second favourite Slug. Played on a CRT TV of course, excuse the bad phone pics. This game looks stunning in the flesh. No emulation or LCD's here !
