So, Xbone buyers, I hear you've bought a cheap Windows 8 machine with half the features missing...
I've been reading pages upon pages of XO and PS4 comparisons and I think it's just safe to buy both
PS4 has the better GPU, but from what I have read the 18CU's against the 12 in the XO is big - but not as big as I think some sites are making out. From what i've read there's bottlenecks on the CPU when going over 14CU's on the PS4 - still even if the extra 4 only provide diminishing returns - it's returns all the same.
The XO has the better CPU and an extra 15 specialised cores for other tasks, and probably over the lifetime of the console the better UI, software (not games), and integration into other services.
In regards to the ram, some sites are saying the XO actually has the better bandwidth (although fiddly to develop for) with the ESRAM over the PS4, whilst the other half say the opposite. Both sides appear to say that the DDR3 latency in the XO is better for the CPU tasks than the GDDR5 in the PS4 for its CPU tasks.
Only time will tell - if you like your consoles games I imagine like me, there's exclusives on both sides that you will want to play - so get both
I think they'll both end up great machines.
