Only very recently got into the XBOX 360 as i've never been a fan of modern gaming. What is cool is I have a massive back catalogue of games to get through and they're all real cheap on ebay. I won a Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for 1p..... £2.00 posted

Also have an XBOX ONE on pre order which its on it's way.

Hummm what did she say at 2:00 in, it a only requires an input plug socket as it 240v.

So a US machine will just plug in over here no stepdown required?

yep that's right! Sony have done universal psu's for years, saves them having to stock different versions for different world regions

Really? Bits pop over, unlimited scrolling (and an absolute mass of it as there's so much white space, massive images and massive fonts). Polygon's the least readable website I've encountered in a long time.

Agree - I know why they allow it - for example I may have bought a film elsewhere and just feel like being helpful, but it leaves the door open for fanboys +/- reviews.

So the PS4 has the blue pulsing strip of death, but the Xbone has the DEATHRATTLE, which is way more catchy (courtesy of the BR drive mechanism).

Other problems reported so far:
Systems hanging during update - same as PS4 had but no rescue function available
Green screen of death
Unreliable cross game party chat
One allegedly releasing the magic smoke.

I imagine these small numbers will be blown up into "40% failure rate" and a "wide variety of problems" by social media like the PS4 suffered. Actually the party chat is the only valid one, an anonymous developer warned this was going to happen weeks ago due to the way it now works. Why they couldnt have stuck with the 360 method which was bulletproof is beyond me.

On a good note they patched AC4 Black Flag on PS4 and now it's 1080 native with no performance impact and better AA - it looks stunning now, looking forward to playing it.

That sounds like a fairly weak excuse to open it and play it to be honest. Leave it shut and just make sure you have a backup plan for a Xmas present

No, no seriously - I am genuinely one of the guys that never, ever looked for his presents as a child. I *love* Christmas. I love Christmas day, I hate opening stuff early! Which is why I'm so pee'd that on this occasion I feel like I have to 'just in case', so the big day isn't ruined

The update not downloading was due to Azure going tits up 2 hours before the UK midnight launch (so Aus and NZ people got stung).

The BD drive issue is very real! They say it sounds like a Predator lol! Testing mine in about an hour when I get in.
