got a link to that?
I’ve actually been having a play this week and I think I’m close to having a build of MAME support the DLX I/o, but would be nice to compare notes.
It just seemed to be missing the I/o mapping and gets upset if it doesn’t see motion feedback.

Has anyone got a video of the power up test on a working machine?. I think I’ve got the MAME motion emulation sussed, but it would be nice to calibrate the speed against a good machine.

Oh and blank boards arrive on Tuesday, so progress continues to crawl on that front

Cool, that'd be great. It's the end-end timings I'm looking for as it does the two sweeps at boot (I'll slow down the video to count frames).
If your cab is a bit slower than others, that's cool, I'll add it to a database of sorts.

If it's not too much to ask (anybody), I'm also curious which way the numbers and limit switches change in the motor test page.
So if you set the motor speed to 1 and push the stick up is it possible to show a video of the position numbers changing (and if it hits a limit switch).
Then repeat for other directions.
Just a quick video showing the stick and the screen. I just want to double check nothing is backwards at my end, basically :D. The game seems happy, but folk won't be if they go the wrong way.

do you need anything further? let me know.... my triac board has been rebuilt now with all new resistors and triacs in all positions and it now runs full speed!!!

That's great, Thank you. (y)
I'll try to unpick what I can later and think if there's anything else. Being honest (hopefully not ungrateful), I think it's a little hard to read the numbers on the CRT during the motion, but I think i can gauge which way is increasing and which way is decreasing .
It moves very quick on the startup, that's for sure!

Edit: I think I'm good though - looks like everything matches up with what I've got working here, and the speeds will be very useful!

edit2: I make it 1 second for a full left to right and 2 seconds for a full up to down. Very useful, thanks again.

Excellent. Glad I bought 10 blank PCBs and not 5 this time round :D
i can take another video of anything you need and change camera settings etc if you think it will help... cheers!
I think I'm good for now, thanks. I've parked the motion emulation side-project for a few days, but it all seems to work :)

I'm trying to source all the components now. Annoyingly things are more expensive or out-of-stock, particularly the heatsink stuff. I'll probably end up having to place orders with Farnell, RS, Mouser AND Digikey to get it all!
So please do expect the price to increase a bit, sorry (+£10-£20-£30 region hopefully, nothing too crazy !).

since you said you had the mame servomotors file emulated ?!
the operator here is on FB : Florian Lebahy. it's his pal who has skills in frontends who did the hack as he said. but seems hard to contact him again...

It's ok, thanks, I've got it working now (will share the results of that one at some point not too far away).

With the boards, I'm going to put the order in for the parts in the next week or so, therefore I'm progressing... slowly.
I'm in the middle of changing jobs and many other things, so even things like picking a day someone will be at home to take in all the parcels isn't so easy, but I'll get there.

Just an update on this. I had a week between jobs and they're now 2/3 made.
Painful, I'm never, ever, ever hand soldering these again.
Annoyingly the heatsink clips I specced are now unobtainable, so I'll have to drill and tap 40 holes for Triacs .

So getting there (really!), just taking a while.
After all the pain I would prefer to spread the 10 around as much as possible and if anyone needs multiples, maybe I could do another batch next year where I'll try to get clued-up on getting them pre-built by a PCB supplier (just the IC sockets, resistors and capacitors are 75% of the pain)
