Hey Alex,

You do get through some cans but they don't go far...the back door alone took a can of primer and a can of black.

Sure, you're welcome here anytime.

The garage helps but you'll never stop stuff coming in, dust from movement is all it needs. There was a fly buzzing around when I started the first coat but I think the fumes got the better of him.

Al, your attention to detail is, quite frankly, breathtaking! I'd be both proud and honoured to let you restore my beloved Pac-Land. I wish I had one hundredth of the skill you have when it comes to things like these amazing restorations you do.

Hey Adrian,

Cheers mate but from reading your pac-land post i'd say you have some pretty handy skills of your own! Restorations are all about time and patience......they're extremely boring but worth while in the end.

Al

Quick update!

Had a go at the cab on Sunday and a bit last eve so I now have a worthy update.

I cleaned the CP latch housings, then fitted

Then screwed/glued the CP/speaker mounting together

Then put the coin door panel and bezel retainer into the cab and fitted the rest. There was a bit of jiggery pokery going on but it all lined up in the end. Screwed and glued together.....

Marquee/light fixture

and a PSU/transformer etc......

Pretty pleased to get it to this stage

Cheers, Al

I got a new repro coin door from the USA some time ago along with some new Asahi Seiko coin mechs and new face plates. Just fitted them to the door ready to fit to the cab although that probably wont happen until next week

Started sorting out the Control Panel. The old one was stuck on and was a bast to get off.

I'm not going to spray this one as my Donkey Kong Junior CP paint is starting to wear through where my hands/wrists rest due to too many hours being spent on it

So, to get a permanent fix i'm going to Formica this one and the others as I have quite a bit left over from when the front of Missile Command was replaced.

Small update,

I was hoping to have the cab finished by now but it's still hanging on in there.....

Managed to adhere the Formica to the Control Panel

Started to sort out the button holes, just got the Joystick recess to do

Monitor support, pity the bolts have to go through the sideart but there ya go. I polished the bolt heads but you can see where they're pitted

Started putting some wiring back into the cab

Done
