I hope the box is not like the one on the website and more a replica of the original box. It would make a great display piece.
If you mean the console box, I've been thinking the same. A replica of the box is really important, MD, SFC, SNES, PCE mini consoles all got the box spot on so it would be a strange decision if they put it all in fake looking box and the original looks amazing!
Just a quick point on people pre ordering from Amazon, just be aware that you're not 100% guaranteed to receive it on time or even at all especially as the demand will probably be high for this. The chances are you will but it's worth taking into consideration.
However or wherever people buy, make 100% sure to use a credit card for consumer protection. It seems about 90% of commenters on forum topics or YouTube videos is ordering one. They must be raking in Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£$$$$$ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ās and it would be horrible if it all went tits up! š

That's why I went with Amazon. At least they don't take the cash. Much as I'd love the ultimate package, I'm not comfortable paying Ā£799 now for something that might be massively delayed or not arrive at all (I'm sure it will but I don't like risk š)
The problem with the Neo Geo community is Ā£799 is a game. If you donāt put the money down shes loads will as it comes with the territory.
Most of the time itās handed over with your only protection being eBay. And hoping when it turns up you havenāt landed one of the real high quality repros.
So handing over Ā£799 to a company thats been around since 1994 is an unusual treat for me when it comes to Neo Geo.
Fact theyāve said the Ā£799 will be the first orders honoured though, I wouldnāt want to be in for the basic one. Could be a wait

im curious to see if they are going to re release the AES carts witj improvements over the original games, case in point the addition of the scotland course to neo turf masters. Iwould rebuy windjammers in a heartbeat.
also regarding console boxes, im after a repro of the aes gold system as my og one is fairly tatty. I see a guy on etsy dors the silver system, not the gold though.

Ended up preordering on Amazon the base black system with a memory card and Pulstar - would have preferred the white one with a wireless joystick but donāt really like metal slug much, prefer pulstar, Shame you canāt choose the game with the white one.
Still, I feel the black one is more āauthenticā in terms of its look so matches the one I lusted after when first released.
Hopefully new games will come along shortly after release, would love to own league bowling and andro dunos.
As the market for aes games appears to be about to be massively increased hopefully some of the recent releases will be made available at the same price as the plaion ones.

i loved andro dunos in my cabinet. i paid 20 quid for 4 mvs games , the seller picked up off garage floor, and i took a gamble on them. They were the days ! wish i still had the carts coukd of paid for the neo geo i do agree id want black one !
Talking of Andro Dunos I found this amongst some old pictures yesterday. Shows the trough of AES prices at one point.

I bought a PAL AES console with arcade stick from Telegames years ago when it was on special with 4 brand new English AES games. I picked Andro Dunos, Super Sidekicks 2, Nam 1975 and World Heroes 2 Jet. I think it was Ā£300 all in back in 2003.
I went mainly MVS in 2004 so sold most of them including Andro Dunos. I have it on MVS.
Looking forward to some AES games now š

I might be in the minority here, but I think after Metal Slug 3 it all went downhill as the original team were no longer working on it.
Iād also highly doubt a new title for the AES+ as itāll mean making it for 1990 tech. Not impossible, but a lot of effort! (Although yeah it would be amazing if they did!)

Loads of companies making new AES games and the fact that Nazca arenāt a think anymore I assume SNK would be able to sweep up the IP and re use it pretty easily.
If anything, this would probably be one of the easiest remakes given thereās 6 loads of code to steal from.

went to nottingham games market this morning. The release of the AES.+ seems to have driven the cost of og 90s aes games up. Saw lots of jap aes consoles varying from 400 unboxed to 600 boxed. AES snk vs capcom chaos was 1.7k.
