Don't think we will ever know to be honest if they hope being shrouded by mystery will make them seem more interesting

Star Wars for over 5k is interesting, you don't see 3 of these for sale in a week like common outrun cabs

There will be even less cabs available on forum, as sellers will think, why sell it for its community price, when I can double on ebay. Its all about the pound notes now.

That’s the problem, the pound listing on eBay is helping the money guys, I will always offer cabs here first and Jamma plus when it was going
For the simple fact ,I’ve had so much help here from members with my cabs,or they would be all dead wooden boxes

I’ve accepted now that Outrun is more than i’ll pay for it. Arcade 1up are apparently trying for a license to make one so hopefully Sega give them the go ahead and at their current cab price range of $299-$349, even $399 or $499 would be a winner for them and me.

It is all getting a bit crazy of late, but i'm sure this unusual time will blow over, just hang in there and dont try to make any sense of it, wait till some of these have paid crazy money on them and then when it stops working, what will they do then...

It was good to see an actual sale price for an item
The enduro racer at 1600 on eBay
What was that ,about 500 cheaper than the last outrun on eBay too and about 4 k less than starwars
Is it another big league cab now ,or is because it was so clean or a bit rare ?

I thought it was a good price for a UK based rarity that’s ready to go, plus I needed it for the Sega DLX row :D

How do you keep them all going ?
Is the failure rate bad .or is it just certain cabs ?
Fair play for grabbing the enduro racer ,it’s as much a classic as all the other deluxe cabs in my eyes
I think I’ll go there for my holidays :)

Yeah we’re past 500 spinning plates now :D
And they take up 100% of my time :/ comes with the territory...
Any cab can be problematic (vectors slightly more so)
It all depends on how old they are/how they’ve been treated/stored and a bit of luck ;)

Ask me agin at 1000 - might be a different answer lol

Probably more people in the hobby. I remember when I joined the danish forum in about...2013 or so... Someone sold Operation Wolf for 4.200 DKK which is about £500. I have never seen one for sale since. I thought that was WAY cheap. And a Outrun Sitdown Dlx went for 5.000 DKK (£600). I'm sure that would be about double now.

Prices in Denmark seem lower than in UK though.  A guy 2 years ago had trouble selling Outrun Mini for £600 and had to lower the price. Not even that many cool cabs for sale in Denmark. I don't get it. Generic boring noname cabs sell for more than that. Danes are weird.

I’m Danish, can confirm. We are weird.

some people cant move 350 kilo .price depends on circumstance.
would like to see a pic of the sega dlx line up.any starwars arcade .

I think we're probably getting fairly close to the peak for prices. People that grew up with arcades are all at an age now where they are more likely to be sitting on a bit of income and more importantly have a bit of extra space.
People from later generations are less likely to have much interest in these old arcade games, they certainly won't have the emotional investment that most of us have with them as we kind of grew up with the industry.

Eventually its only going to be dedicated collectors left and the market will find its own balance as these collectors increasingly will only have one another to trade with.

Personally I think the prices across the entire retro spectrum, from arcades, to consoles to cars are absolutely insane at the moment but I think they're generational and given a few more years will settle back down.

I totally agree ,most kids these days have and will have no interest in filling their houses or garages full of this stuff in the future ,they just don’t have that nostalgia for these things that has made them expensive
There’s to many in the hobby for money also .this isn’t something that bothers me ,it’s only natural for people to get a few quid extra for things they’ve put their heart and soul into
Cabs going straight to eBay now ,they are being used for all sorts of comersial uses again ,which is even better as that’s what they are for
Once the money isn’t in it anymore ,try and imagine shifting some of those big cabs
I would of loved a space harrier deluxe and would probably got rid of all my cabs to get the space and money
Now the novelty has worn off that thought ,trying to get it working. Keep it working, move it around and then eventually trying to get it moved on ,how many times would it even be played ? It’s just nostalgia,
It’s the same with old cars ,I’ve owned most of the desirable 80s cars ,most of the younger generation couldn’t give a Toss about them, and think they are uncomfortable, unreliable ,rust buckets
Yet our generation will gladly throw 20 k at them
The question is when will the bubble burst ? Who knows ,but my bet is it will Body pop2019-07-02 07:47:08

Just switched one of my cabs on yesterday, it's not been on for 6/8 years and came on working perfect, even all the monitors still perfect, that's in my separate games building which hasn't been heated since it was built, just kept dry with solar dehumidifier, best thing I bought to keep these machines safe from damp

The car prices will just keep going up I think, they always seem to, owners kids grow up with them and there child hood is remembered being in them so they get the bug too, mate a school, his dad had old cars, Triumph Herald was his favourite so both his sons at school with me bought one too so they all had them, the older cars don't drop in price either when that generation are gone, there always seems to be people that want them

I've grown up with fords, my dad had them all his life, all Cortina's from mk2 to mk5, Escort, few Sierra, brother has had most of the High Performance Fords but to me the most reliable stuff was made in Japan, all my Hi-Fi equipment is late 70's early 80's Technics, 90% of it still working perfect so to me the cars you want from same era are Japanese, you won't be breaking down or having trouble starting them, then again I've never really followed the crowd, I go my own way with music and most things, not interested in old Fords even though my childhood memories are full of them, give me a Honda any day

Gaming is one of the most popular things now, more money in it than film industry which is pretty amazing, it all depends on how much the younger generation get hooked on it, if you start looking into video game history to see how it all started then Arcade Machines are the first thing, depends if they want to go back though or just want to look forward

Even half the games for us don't mean much if you didn't play them when they were in the arcades, the older B/W stuff, how many of us are interested in buying those, bet not many which is why they don't sell for much, though when you get a chance to play some on original machines they make much more sense than in mame and like when we played Boot Hill, I really enjoyed playing it with 2 player, the back drops make the game so much more
