Wow what an awesome weekend of arcade goodness...
It was a pretty long trip from Cambridge to the Northern moors but well worth the journey!
I'd like to say a big thank you to RGP, u72 and all the organizers and those involved on behalf of my +1 and myself. Being a new member to the community I thought this was very generous to let us come to the opening party
Suffice to say I had a most excellent time playing a superb collection of games, I really enjoyed the 80's music and atmosphere and now sorely want more cabinets of my own.
Apologies I didn't really talk to many people, I got so stuck into the games and tbh was a bit shy (awww), but hello to those I did, and thanks to p man for the CD, cheers
So many good games, of course there were a few I didn't manage to play because they weren't working at the time or I missed them but here's my most memorable:
Amidar - was looking forward to this as I quite like the game (I had this or some derivative on the BBC), didn't look like it got a lot of love as I got 1st place on the high scores which is unheard of lol. Underrated game.
Thunderblade sit down - wow what a workout it is to play this game with the whole apparatus lurching around as the joystick is moved, awesome! (pity I forgot to use the speed control on the side of the seat though, bleh...)
Crazy Kong - pretty sure I played this one at replay expo last year but I did take my time to actually look more closely at the cabinets and this one is really great, the artwork is almost gruesome on the bezel - nice.
Sinistar - been a LONG time since I saw an original one of these, played really nicely, I love that joystick.
Spy Hunter - so awesome to see one of these in the flesh once again, as hard as nails got completely owned by this one heheh.
Anyway, thanks again and all the best. Good luck for the future!
