Big update today as yesterday was finally time for the work to be done on the doors
I've been really excited about this as it was the biggest problem with the garage, the doors were both rusty, broken and full of gaps which meant it was impossible to keep the place warm and dry.
One door was had broken so badly it wouldn't shut sometimes, hardly ideal!
This was the reason I've had to sell quite a few cabs and a lot of my pcb's as it's the single biggest expense of this whole process.
So here's the old doors. You can see the silicone 'repair' I made
and the half inch wide gap along each side of the door.
And here's the new stuff fitted. Really pleased with this, I've got a nice insulated electric roller door all sealed up at the edges which has the advantage of tucking up out of the way rather that the up and over type. Then on the other side a double glazed upvc pedestrian door which means I can pop in there without letting all the heat out, and it lets in some much needed natural light. The side is an insulated timber frame clad with upvc shiplap.
What's nice is the guys finished off the plasterboarding and fitted the light switch in place which wasn't part of the job
It feels completely different in there now. This mean I can finish off the ceiling and floor so nearly there!
