Loving that Super Hang On as well, very nice.

YES, the community spends too less attention to the Hang-On cabinets. I have the red/white/blue swoop sit-down and the ride on soon and still look for a Super Hang-On....

About time for a little update I think
smiley1.gif

Progress has been very slow due to injury/lack of funds/time etc. Did a little bit more last week though.
Second section of the insulation and ceiling board has gone up.

This means basically half the room is ready to use now, so I could properly fix the strip lights in one area and put some more cabs in their final places. It's been a long time since I fired up these two!

Sadly my Bubble Bobble cab has died since the last time it was used. Hopefully the pcb isn't toast.

The insulation is working as the garage is now distinctly warmer than outside for the first time ever.

I put up some shelves for pcb's and generally started to tidy the place up a bit as it's now a matter of waiting for my new garage doors before I can do any more on the ceiling really.

I've had a few lighting things kept back to use so yesterday I fitted the two 15 metre sections of lighting to go around the top of the walls. Top section is permanent blue, the second one is multi coloured fading.

Here's how it looks.

Looking nice olly. are you gonna box in any of the lighting so you don't see it directly?
Probably not in the short term, it's not very bright but I'll have to see how it all looks when finished.
I do like the idea of doing something like this

But it's time & cash that I need on other stuff for now. I'm desperate to crack on with a couple of restos!

I was looking at something pretty cool a while back

LED Flooring, I think it could even do video on it like a pinball DMD panel and all the floor panels joint together and light up. but I won't have much floor space left over

Big update today as yesterday was finally time for the work to be done on the doors
smiley4.gif

I've been really excited about this as it was the biggest problem with the garage, the doors were both rusty, broken and full of gaps which meant it was impossible to keep the place warm and dry.
One door was had broken so badly it wouldn't shut sometimes, hardly ideal!

This was the reason I've had to sell quite a few cabs and a lot of my pcb's as it's the single biggest expense of this whole process.

So here's the old doors. You can see the silicone 'repair' I made

and the half inch wide gap along each side of the door.

And here's the new stuff fitted. Really pleased with this, I've got a nice insulated electric roller door all sealed up at the edges which has the advantage of tucking up out of the way rather that the up and over type. Then on the other side a double glazed upvc pedestrian door which means I can pop in there without letting all the heat out, and it lets in some much needed natural light. The side is an insulated timber frame clad with upvc shiplap.

What's nice is the guys finished off the plasterboarding and fitted the light switch in place which wasn't part of the job

It feels completely different in there now. This mean I can finish off the ceiling and floor so nearly there!
