the cathode of the diode goes to c333 and then to r318 correct? so where is the anode of the diode going?

To an unused pad that empty hole above r401.


Schematic shows normaly it goes to pin 5 no ?

looks ok, remove the resistor from circuit, r318- so you can read the voltage that will go to the ic

excellent, thats what you would expect - now meter the resistor side that goes to the ic

ok sounds like it may be correct, the ic vcc max is 16v so 13.33 sounds like it will be fine

now you can remove the lightbulb, put the HOT collector back in circuit and see what happens on the tube

I have a feeling that you would need to run the vertical ic from the 25v line as well but worth seeing how it behaves with just the sync processor running from a clean supply
