Hi all, I've got a question, but this might not be the best thread so let me know and I'll post elsewhere.
I'm running Chunskin's Win7 image on a Blast City cab with a JPAC and it's awesome! I've tweaked AttractMode and it's got a few thousand MAME games on it, all looking amazing :)

But, now I want it to play more stuff so I'm looking at systems that run in 31Khz mode - Naomi 1 and 2, Atomiswave, Dolphin for (Tatsunoko vs Capcom) and some TTX/Nesica games that I know run at that resolution. I might also try Sega Model 2 / Model 3.

I've started with Naomi and Atomiswave through Demul and configured Attract Mode to launch them, which works perfectly, they look great (clear picture), my problem now is that they are running VERY slow. I'm happy to upgrade my PC, but I'm not sure what the problem is - do I need a better graphics card (currently a Radeon 5450) or a CPU (currently an i5, 3.4GHz). It's also just got 4GB RAM, might I need more?

Any adivce would be appreciated, particualrly on the best graphics card for EMUdriver which I suspect is the problem.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for this, Chunksin

This is exactly what I am after.

I have a couple of questions. I would like to upgrade MAME. My set is currently on 0.220. I can't see the Upgrade MAME option mentioned above?

Also, I am using a card that was already previously signed 'Calamity'. So is there a way of skipping this step of the setup Unfortunately it is a 4000 series so the setup opens the PDF but doesn't move on even after manually installing the driver (and modelines).

Cheers

There is a way to move it on, it looks for a trigger in the vbs script, probably a flag file, I'll have to check the image to find out but if you manually create the file it should move on to the next step

New image almost ready to go, updated Attract Mode and Groovymame to the latest versions, added 240p mode for menus along with optimised themes and an LCD install option, also making the switch to super resolutions. Before I finalize it, any last minute requests?

Sorry, think I've jumped the gun!

When I read "It's in there!

" didn't realise that this was a response to the question above it!

I somehow thought that it had been uploaded

Hiya,

If it's not too late, and you don't already have it in there already, could you add the Robospin layout?

Cheers!

If anyone is intersted, I adapted the Robospin layout and added 18 different cabs and a selection of different backgrounds, including a video background. They all use a video snap and logo (maquee not needed). The cabs inlcude...Astro City, Atomiswave, Blast City, Mini Cute, Capcom Status, Egret 3, Pony 3, Naomi, New Astro City, SNK 25 Candy, SNK MVS U4, SNK Neo 19, SNK SC19, SNK Super Neo, Taito Canary, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Fighter 2, Vewlix. I basically created a realistic cab for the different emulators I was hoping to run, with a load of variety. They look great on a real cab.
I can create a video to show. They took me ages to source, cut out and retouch the images, so I'm happy to share.

Here's a link to the video. I've setup some emulators using different skins already - Neogeo using MVS U4, Demul/Naomi using the Naomi skin, Demul/Atomiswave using the Atomiswave skin etc.

As I say, I modifed the brilliant Robospin layout, so you can then go to layout settings and choose different backgrounds and different cab skins - the video shows a few of them being selected.

That's fantastic work! If you don't mind me including it in the image, drop me a pm, would be much appreciated by candy cab owners

I've found a few more going through the AM forums that I'll include, there is a nice vert theme called Invaders Plus worth checking out

No problem at all. I'll zip it up and send you a link.
The video doesnt do it justice, it does look lovely in the flesh and it's got loads of options. I looked around and I couldnt find anything so I thought I'd make my own.

Also, I still want to add more candy cabs to the list, so if there's any others that people want, drop me a note and I'll update it.

Brilliant, thanks! Just as a heads up, has anyone tried Arcadeflow_78 before? Had a play with it today, that's a seriously impressive piece of work!
