Well done to everyone involved with setting up the arcade for this event, it's crazy that you've been able to move so many machines in a short time.
Hope the event is good too, have noticed that a lot of people I know aren't going to be there too, as long as there are some games that can keep my attention for a long time, then I should be fine.

If you are going, see you over the weekend!

I hope a beverage is planned for after the event in the local Wetherspoons or similar?

AFTER the event? The bar is right next to the arcade and between the vids and the pins!

So we can have a bit of a chin wag about the event

I bet bar prices are pretty high inside the event?

What are the 2/twin driving cabs with white seat backs just to the left of OR DLX?

EDIT:
are there any "on the door" tickets (how much ?), I'm in Manchester Sat night for Orlyk's 65th Anniversary party, so if I'm not too dead on Sunday I might be able to pop-in..

Looked like Sega Rally seats to me.

And yes, entry available on the door for cash.

Well mi compadres, i'm happy to report after a hefty slog, everything survived moving and all machines have been happily eating 240v all day.

A couple of monitor failures but spare chassis have been deployed and one i'm fairly certain what the fault is.

Battlezone threw a wobbler and Luke was on hand and diagnosed a Y-axis failure - backup cpu board has been sent for.

Asteroids has a strange fault which may mean it might have to sit out the event - calling all vector monitor heads to the tech section.

Other than that, everything is good.

See a load of you tomorrow.

Just back from Play Expo... how naïve was I to think I might spot random UKVACers... the event was huge! Thousands there - the queue to get in was enormous... I think there are still people trying to get in 8 hrs later... And great for people watching... what's with the dressing up as your favourite game character?! Not really my thing but some of the costumes were really good (and some just really funny)...

The line up of pins and cabs stole the show... very impressive. I saw about 10 people queuing up for the After Burner Deluxe at one point!

Had a quick chat to some of the NERG guys - they seem a really friendly crew... must try and get up there next year.

Much to the entertainment of folk around me, I had a very uncoordinated go on the horse racing oculus rift sim - complete with obscene moving saddle chair - hilarious!

And I actually spoke to Jeremy Bulloch (aka Boba Fett - OM F**kin G!!!)

My last highlight was playing a couple of Vectrex games... I have been waiting 30 years to play a Vectrex and it did not disappoint they are so cooool. Got to get me one of those.....

Hope other folk had fun....

Sounds good mate, looking forward to tomorrow, gonna get there early. Was the DK busy?

There are a couple of DK's side by side, so you should have no trouble. The vast majority of games had someone playing them virtually all of the time - but I found if you hung around the machine that you wanted to play, then the guy/gal playing generally stepped aside at their game over.

But my top tip... don't bother waiting for that guy playing pacman to finish... you could be there some time
